  3. Red, I can't find the drag specs for the Medalists either, my guess would be around 25 pounds. I'll shoot an e-mail to Pflueger and find out. BTW, 26 ounces is about the exact same as the 14000 Spheros.
  4. Tried that with Baitrunner 6500's drag locked down, pizzed off monster snook on the other end. Doesn't work so well when they are five feet from pillings. The drag locked down on a 14000 Spheros works really well in that situation. Rick, when the water hits 85 ish' + down here I can show you some snook fishing you'll never forget. (Cut bait, 65 power pro, 80 pound leader, 8/0 circles) Your welcome to come fishing me anytime.
  5. Pull up a helm chair and enjoy the new site!
  6. Yeah the first few photos posted don't show the race action, my guess is that is no accident. Maybe call those guys over at Endless Imagery right now and hook us "Real Boaters" up big guy. Worst they can say is no.
  7. Sorry, HeaVEEweight has the hookup. And we were not the first site. Still waiting for the video and more photos. PS: Reel Boating would like to be the first site in the future.
  8. That will be a problem. Mary Kate 0n-Off hull cleaner will work fine to remove the scum line. Keeping a hull clean in dirty water is another issue.
  9. You went out and bought a 14000 after I posted this didn't you! LOL.
  10. H1N1 vs. R2D2, who would win? I just googled that after I thought about it....there are others like me out there.
  11. Best of luck with this one Gus! We have all learned from your experience. It should be a MUST READ for all used boat buyers.
  12. I have found the best bet is to keep my mouth shut. "Hey buddy, you might want to clear that dock line your towing behind your transom." Line in prop 5 mintues later "Do you know your fishing (anchored) right in the middle of the narrow channel dead center of the pass?" ticket from sherriff, for undersized fish, pfds, etc "Hey your bildge pump has been running the last ten mintues since I've been behind you." call for assistance about five mintues later, sinking, no plug "Your waterline looks low, do you have water in your bildge?" sank at the dock, bad bilge pump "Your anchored in a busy pass in a 12 foot johnboat with the anchor tied to your beam" swamped by large sportfish 1 hour later "You can't operate your boat in the no vessel zone (swimming area) off the beach" ticket Just a few examples in the past few months, all responses were less than cordial.
  13. Red...what spinning reels do you use? I agree even the high dollar spinners wear quickly, compared to conventional. Personally I refuse to spend over $200.00 on spinning reels. (I use Accurate and Stella spinners frequently too) My favorite remains the Spheros FB lineup. I may give that Pfluger Medalists a try though. 14. Ok, how about a clip and belt loop, best of both worlds.
