Bought a new boat, survey it?

Thanks. Is that offensive to the builder? Also, how would I ever find a unbiased surveyor in a area I have never been to? Any idea on cost to survey a cc? 29ft? Thanks.... -
Do I get it surveyed before it leaves the factory (florida), or do i get it surveyed at dealers (northeast)? I have heard a few stories of people not getting new boats surveyed, and really regretting it.
