  1. I took it to my boat builder (Bluewater). Voltages and connections checked good. They replaced the remote control unit, went through the set-up procedure, and it worked perfectly (thanks Pete!). The remote control unit is the device that is mounted to the console with the throttle/shift levers and tilt switches. Lucky for me that Bluewater had one available...

  2. I addtion to my other post about no star engine temp , I have noticed that several times when I turn on the key, the gages revert to boat set-up. So, I have to go thru the engine tank config. I am new to these and wonder if this a common occurance ?

Still no love on the temp issue.

I have the same problem with my Suzuki SMIS gauges. Does anyone have a solution?

  3. How many forums does this debacle have to pollute? THT, Bloodydecks, iBoats, Florida Sportsman, the list goes on. And the point? Isn't one discussion enough?

Time to go fishing, swap out motors, upgrade upholstery, get a new kicker, change over to hydraulic steering...ANYTHING BUT ANOTHER CONTENDER THREAD!!!! :1898_:

If you don't enjoy the topic then no one forces you read it...

  4. Got mine 6 weeks ago.

Damn fast unit with the Plat + chip. Definetly faster than E series.

They made huge strides with the nmea0183 ins and outs. Now it's like Garmin. VERY nice improvent 3 ins/outs.... Seatalk is now in the same bundle too, seperate though.

GPS internal is the best I've ever used. Shoots through my metal cabin. HDOP of 1.0 everytime.--even seen a .9!

    Cons, price.

Thanks AC. I believe that I have decided to go with Furuno 3D.

  5. I'm about to equip a new Bluewater 2850 with electronics. I was leaning toward Raymarine C120W x 2 with 12kW SHD radar, 1000W FF, and Garmin Autopilot. I am having second thoughts about Raymarine given their recent financial problems and the small number of these systems in use. My understanding

is that the Furuno cartography stinks, but that the chart plotter is OK and that fish finder and UHD radar work great.

Can anyone here with real life Nav Net 3D and/or Raymarine C Wide Series comment about the comparible Nav Net 3D connected with Garmin AP or the Raymarine regarding performance? How do the bells and whistles like radar overlay on the chart and the other gee-wiz stuff work?

    Thanks!
