  1. I don't know of an engine made that can create more HP at the prop than at the power head. There is nothing in a gear case that will increase HP I'd buy a Yamaha No E-turds for me. OptiMax all the way. Proven superior performance, reliability, and fuel economy for 2 strokes. Even though you don't care, if they offer DTS for that setup, you'll love it. Mercury was the first outboard with DTS and they have mastered it. Trust me, you won't regret going with the OptiMax, it's that good.
  2. Mine are in an enclosed area in the console, and I think it's the best place to put them. Sometimes I leave the compartment door open to allow fresh air to pass over them so the contacts don't corrode. Most of the high quality manufacturers do it nowadays.
  3. Because of this ONE boat I will NEVER buy or send someone to buy/look at a Contender. Remember, a satisfied customer will tell 3 people BUT a dissatisfied customer will tell 300 [ Dale Carnegie] Agreed...I would have probably never got an overrated Contender in the first place, but even if they came out with the baddest, fastest, next newest center console, you probably couldn't give that crap to me at cost. When it comes to building boats with complete attention to detail in every aspect, there are few manufacturers that actually do it...Yellowfin and Sea Vee are a few that come to mind.
  4. The only thing I like about Contenders is how easy they are to pass.
  5. Stayin' busy....good thing Five Guys is around the corner for a quick 'fix'....both food and.....
  6. Jim, welcome to RB. I have the Pro Tournament quad on my Invincible and it is great. Thanks!
  7. Ding ding ding.... Can't tell you how many for sale ads I've seen on large convertible sportfishers that say "willing to trade to large center console". This is the situation for a lot of people, but we had a few people come to the show (I was selling the 42 Invincible) that had bigger boats (sportfishers) and were looking for a second, smaller boat, probably for fishing locally and more cheaply. I disagree with the economy not affecting the people who buy the large center consoles. EVERYONE is affected by this no matter how much money you have. The guys with the extra money are affected even more than the little guys, they have more to lose! I'll tell you honestly that if it wasn't for the bleak economy right now, the 42 Invincible would be sitting on a brand new upgraded boat lift behind the house a lot quicker than it realistically can be right now. As far as boats being rigged with power less than what we'd expect, I saw that also. The 42 Invincible was rigged with triples instead of quads, but it drives a good point that the boat can be run fast and efficiently with triples and doesn't necessarily need quads. I think that boat will run like a beast whenever there are 400 HP outboards that aren't racing motors that can run on 87 octane fuel. With triple 350's it still should be a mid-upper 60 mph boat which is fantastic for a boat that size. I also agree with Wiley about people skipping out on a certain size range. We had some people come through at the show looking for an upper 20's boat when looking at the 33 Invincible. For the most part, the 36 and 42 were the hits of the show. Invincible sells probably double the amount of 36's to the 33's to this date and the 36 is as much as $70,000 more than the 33. Perhaps people realize how much more of a boat the 36 is sizably over the 33, but this is just my input as a vendor at the Miami Boat Show this year.
  8. Odyssey! Highly recommended and used by Invincible, I have 4 of them.
  9. Still waiting...... He said he did'nt want it and that I could have it I reported this post as spam
  10. Hey fellas, WIth the fast approaching date of the Miami Boat Show, I figured I would let you all know I will be at the show in the Convention Center representing Invincible Boats and helping with sales. I will be there Friday, Saturday, and Sunday so if anybody passes by, stop in to say hello, I would definitely like to meet everyone. Happy hunting! Mike
  11. I am gonna stir the pot a bit and give my prediction of the results of your perfect race: 1) 38 Fountain 2) 36 Invincible 3) 33 ST Contender 4) 36 Deep Impact 5) 35 Sea Hunter 6) 36 Yellowfin I've run them both as well and I would flip numbers 1 and 2, but that's just me. ;)I've run a 34 Fountain with triple 275 Verados and light fuel vs. me with trip 300 Vrods and full fuel and I blew him away, he topped at 64.5 and I saw 70 flat.I do know, however, the 38 hull is a bit faster than the 34. That's why these boats need to be run with the same power, same day, side by side, just to end the debate.
  12. I doubt Invincible will be bringing a quad boat to the bedlam but I can guarantee you there won't be any triple engine boat passing the triple 350 36 Invincible.
  13. Woops, my bad. I thought it was aimed at prop, not homey. HE has no outriggers, no radar, no windscreen, no seating. He also has no cajones, and apparently no video camera. Outriggers are overrated on slimey kingfish boats.
  14. Does it have a step bottom? Looks really sweet! They seem very popular up north and in Alaska.
  15. Hello Ed, sorry for your loss and sorry we "meet" under these circumstances. Let me know if you need any particular photos. I took 188 pictures of the event. At least I was able to get a few before she became totally engulfed. Hopefully the InletCam helped you assess the situation as it happened. I was by myself that day so between running out taking pix, having the firemen walking through the backyard, and trying to run inside to control the cam it was quite hectic. Good luck getting everything worked out. Capt. Ed, Sorry for the loss of your boat. Hopefully everything works out in her aftermath. Mike
