  1. Ludi,

I have the Sea Key system with the display screen at the helm. The unit itself had some problems and I had it replaced a few times but other than that it works very well and the Geofence operates like clockwork. Just about every time I set the geofence I forget to take it off and they call me up right away.

It's expensive but the best in my opinion.

  2. Anyone has the pics of the new 44 Cabo express from the Lauderdale boat show?

    Anyone???

Just curious what interests you in the new era Cabos now that Brunswick owns them? Generally anything Brunswick takes over goes down in quality. Cabo used to be the cat's azz for express boats but nowadays I'm not sure if I could ever put the same trust in them.

  3. Nor-Tech 390 Sport Center Console - Fort Lauderdale Boat Show Pictures

300 gallons of fuel? Pretty much explains why this is a coastal cruiser and not a great fishing boat.

Ive run this model, and at 52-55mph we were averaging 1.5mpg,.. Nortech also has an available second tank holding close to 500 gallons.

500 should be standard on a boat this size with triples. I get around the same fuel efficiency and there are times I wish I held more than 420 gallons. Boat looks nice, would make a great tender to a large yacht. I feel like it falls into the Deep Impact market more so than the hardcore fish boat market.

  4. Got some time freed up to detail the German saloon. Did a simple Dawn wash (dish soap) to remove grease and old wax. That stuff does its job pretty well. I wish I had more time to clay bar the entire car but maybe next time I will.

Used Woody's Carnuba wax designed for automotive and boat use. My best advice is LESS IS MORE. A little goes a long way and my orbital buffer did a good job at spreading it. My only problem was that it was a PITA to take off because I applied it a little too thick and I think the air here is too moist to let it dry perfectly. Just took some extra elbow grease to get it all out.

Here are some crappy phone pix, but friends say it looks very nice and it is as soft as a baby's ass! I did all windows with it as well and water beads off like it wasn't even there even in the pouring rain. Very impressive. I feel like the products that are harder to remove are also better for longevity.

  5. Jon,

I would like to see it as well.

The only thing that does not work for me is the lack (for me) of livewell space. I have 110 gallons total on my current boat and am looking for the same, if not more, in livewell space. I live bait 95% of the time I fish and often I am carrying hundreds of baits to live chum with.

My other question is are the livewells fully pressurizing? I didn't notice a Sea Chest system and that is a feature I really like on my current boat that has taken full popularity in the industry.

The boat looks badazz and I would also like to know what kind of speeds it may achieve with triple 300 Verados as well as fuel efficiency estimates. The fuel capacity is right on target.

The attention to detail looks fabulous, but above everything, I'm all about customer service and you will tend to see me flock to where customers are taken care of and appreciated.

  6. The "E-Turd" 115 has been a very reliable engine. That said I wouldn't say the Opti-bomb is a bad engine. But it will be louder and use more oil than the E-TEC.

E-Tecs are good motors, OptiPops are good....you'd be hard pressed to find a bad motor nowadays that you know you want to stay away from. It really all comes down to price, dealer network, and what works for your setup.
