  1. Thanks guys. Alot of good advice here. Plenty to think about. I forgot to mention it but shredding was a concern. After looking at the trailer closely, no room for a second axle. I keep good tires and proper inflation (80#)and don't dirve over 50-50 mph. I'm surprised the Tacoma pulls that load as well as it does.

    Thanks again

  2. Leaf springs on the trailer. Room for another axle. I think so. have to take a closer look at that. I'll verify capacity and post some pics.

I hate to think of a tire blowing out at 55 mph or changing a flat on the side of the road. Always carry a new spare and tire changing equpment. But I don't pull but about 15 miles to the marina. Good feed back guys. never thought about calling Wesco.

Perhaps I'm being to cautious. I make it a point to keep good tires w/proper inflation on the trailer.

OK--I'm thinkng twice about the idea. I can spend the money on more fishing equipment. Yea, thats it, more fishing stuff. You know you never have enough. you have given more confidence in my set up.

Thanks for your knowlege and great feed back.

Safe and Happy Hollidays to you and yours

  5. Anyone ever upgraded a single axle trailer to a tamdam axle? I have a Wesco alumium, bunk, float on. I think D or E rated tires. Have a 20' MayCraft CC. Boat weighs 2000# + about 800# fuel, people and gear. I worry each time I trailer the boat to the marina, about 15 miles. Is it worth it to add another axle? If it makes a difference I pull the boat with a 2001 Tacoma V6.

    Just thinking safty.

  6. Now you will receive us.

We do not ask for your poor, or your hungry.

We do not want your tired and sick.

It is your corrupt we claim.

It is your evil that will be sought by us.

With every breath we shall hunt them down.

Each day, we will spill their blood till it rains down from the skies.

Do not kill, do not rape, do not steal, these are principles which every man of every faith can embrace.

These are not polite suggestions, these are codes of behavior and those of you that ignore them will pay the dearest cost.

There are varying degrees of evil, we urge you lesser forms of filth not to push the bounds and cross over, into true corruption, into our domain.

For if you do, one day you will look behind you and you will see we three. And on that day, you will reap it.

And we will send you to whatever god you wish.

And shepherds we shall be, for Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, that our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee, and teeming with souls shall it ever be.

    In nomine Patri.

  7. Guys, this is not a quetsion of E10!I have been running E30 ( yes, that is 30% ethanol) in Brazil for about 7 years now.Nothing like that ever happened on my optimax.Milky stuff fouling the carbs sounds like gas that should not have been left in there so long anyways.

Brazil, that sounds like the place to be. how's the fishing down there? Can you use your boat all year long? You hit the nail on the head. Leaving the gas the boat tank is the problem. I cannot boat year round. Well I could. But, it's gets to cold for me and most of the fish have migrated south or way off shore for me anyhow. It's my understanding that our unleaded gas is formulated for a shelf life of about 60 to 90 days. Reason being, that it is cycled fast enough that it does not sit at the gas station long enough to get contaminated or break down. My boat sits for about 3 to 4 mouths a year. I did not use enough and/or the right kind of fuel stableizer. I learned the hard way. Gas sitting in the tank collects moisture from condensation and the E10 absorbs moisture from the air also. It also breaks down the gas. I can't remember the technical term used for that. leaves what we call varnish on the inside of the tank. When it drys it flakes off from the gas sloshing around. My gas turned a brownish orange with trash and water. Glad to hear that you are not having any problems with the gas down there. Wow E30, I can't imagin what that would do around here. Damn, Hope I don't have nightmares from the thought of that.

I'm not an expert. To me, this summerizes what I have read from a lot of boaters on this form and others. My machanic is telling me the same. I'm sure others can add knowlege and experences.

Well, time for another Bud. :1992_beer_cheer:

    Happy boating to you gfranz

  8. Fill me in on vacume the tank. After i pumped the 2 gallons of government fuel out, it ran great. Do i need to do anything additional?

I called a local hazzardous waste company and I told them of my problem. They said that they could vacume out my tank. I had to remove the inspection plate on the deck to gain access to the access to the port on top of the tank they do not use the fuel fill hose. Mine is about 3' in diameter. From there they can insert there vacume hose. They said they could try to get to the sides of the tank also. I had my carbs cleaned and replaced fuel seperator and hoses.

The cost was $100 flat fee, plus .45 cent a gallon. For me 60 gallons of gas gone.

It's a little pricey, But I will do most anything to prevent this E-10 problem from happening again. Use fuel treatments formulated for E-10. There have been many posts here about which ones others are using, do a search. The boat left me dead in the water( in shore, Glad I was not out side) 2 times before I found the problem.

E-10 sucks. I'll sure The poeple who make decisions on adding E-10 do not own a boat.

    Safe and Happy Boating

  9. No, it's not Rusty Hooks. It's Rusty B in wilmington. I Think I should change my screen name.

Need to come up with something unique.

BTW where did you say that spot was? :D

Just kidding, looks like you found a great spot. It takes a lot of time and patience to find a place where you can locate fishing of that quality. Glad you had fun thats what it's all about.
