Craigslist vs. Boat Trader

I have a very curious question.

If Craigslist is free, why would i sell my boat on Boat Trader?

That being said, thousands of boats are for sale on Boat Trader and people pay hundreds for a listing.

What is the reasoning?! Opposite extremes and both are successful.

I believe the caliber of people on BT are somewhat higher than CL

What MB said, if ya go wit CL, beware of scams and BS replies and broker galore contacting you!! Stay with a site built for the seller and the buyer. Not the scam hole known as CL. Just my experience.

Over 20k boat trader under 20k Craigslist........ Think of craigslist as yard sale/road side stuff ... Boat trader more of dealer type

So what if there was a craigslist type site, but only for boaters? Like, free to list, but only marine categories on the site?

Would it be better for both buyers and sellers if you had to pay to list? or is it better free?

iboats iis also a good one if you want to pay cheaper than boat trader
