Buying a new boat

Recommended Posts

Ok guys, I'm thinking about buying my own boat. I am tired of going out on the drift/party boats all the time and dealing with the idiots that are drunk and or cant fish to save their lives 1898_.gif753_hammer_hitting_head.gif . I am not an expert by any means, but I have caught my fair share of fish.

So, this is what I am thinking:

Buy a 18-22ft CC with at least a 150hp, it needs GPS, and it needs the basic fish stuff (fish finder), depth finder and stuff.

Any suggestions on make and model, year, used, new?

I'm not looking to break the bank on the first purchase, that might come later 2261_high.gif

Any input helps, thanks!

alot depends on were you r going to fish to decide the type of center console and the deadrise is important for the type of water and if you will be offshore all the time the deeper deadrise for sure some boats are made for flats and offshore on a nice day stay away from the cheap new boats and get a good used one if you r handy and can fix things .

Me and my husband have recently sold one of my best boats to an old neighbor of mine, im talking worth big bucks, but him and wife recently retired and had no children at home, so they wanted to travel, get out and have fun. We sold it to him for 1,500, when this boat cost 9,800, do you think that we sold ourselves short? We did it because we loved him!!!
