ok guys what is the best cleaner to use on my gps screen.I was told not to use windex???any ideas?thanks dave

I use Raymarine Marine Shield Screen Cleaner, I'm sure that there are others that are as good. Do use one that is designed for cleaning screens on electronic devices; no all purpose cleaners.

What DK sez. if the screen has an anti-glare coating like the Furuno 520 you'll destroy it. Don't ask me how I know......

All Lowrance units come with a micro fibre cloth and tell you to only use water or mild soap if really bad. In most all cases water is all you need. The anti glare coating does not like chemicals just like Mint said.

Yeah and don't use the Costco micro fiber cloth. Use the type that come with Maui Jim's for instance. Big difference. Even if you f-up the anti-glare coating you can get a film from Nu-Shield that works great. Then you don't have any worries.

I ruined the coating on my stuff but found something at www.navprotector.com. It's a stick on coating that has glare protection. It works great.

I wash and soak my microfiber towel in fabric softner.....air dry it and then use plain water and soft towell...has worked well for years and my screens all look new still....like everyone else says...NO windex..NO chemical cleaners unless it is specifically designed NOT to remove the protective coating...I just trust plain water and its always available...never have to worry about being out...LOL
