Mid-life........ I mean old-age crisis?

I hate getting old. "Only" 62 and back hurts, knees hurt, balance issues, heart condition.....sigh. When do you hang it up as far as horsing around a big heavy boat? Just resign yourself to a small leaky skiff? How old was Papa when he said "Screw this" and offed himself? I see some old salts on the water in their 70's and 80's God bless 'em...gives me some hope. Let's hear it from the geezers out there!

Go until you can't go anymore.

Most that stop just go home and die.

Get yourself a 23'Plate Alloy boat so when you hit the dock, The rocks or the Beach the boat is fine BUT the best part is the maintenance is minimal so your not beating yourself up trying to keep it up.

Attitude you have to have a positive attitude. You mention "hang it up" and make reference to Hemingway's suicide? Why even mention that?

Are you giving up? Your post wreaks of negativity. Consider this. What is the alternative to getting old?

Keep active, keep the moving parts moving. If you don't they'll 'rust' up on you.....and change your attitude. :605_thumbs_up:
