Rubrail Maintenance

Any suggestions for repairing gouges in pvc rubrail? Is there a product that will fill a small gouge and blend in? A separate question: what is the best product for enhancing and protecting the appearance of the pvc---maybe an automotive product?

I never knew of a way to repair PVC rub rails except replacing them. I do know not to ever clean them with acetone. I use a sponge and Bartenders Friend or a mild bathroom cleaner that has bleach it it.

I have used Maguires Back to Black, 303 protectant, and Armor all on black rubrails. Back to Black seems to last the longest.
