2001 SEASWIRL 2600WA

Recommended Posts

With 2005 dual axle Magic Tilt trailer, stainless hardware, single axle disk surge brakes.

2 spares, 2 new tires and brake pads 2008.

We primarily used this boat in Florida twice a year and a couple times a year out of Morehead City N.C. Age has caught up with me and we only used it once in 2009 so she has to go.

Boat was purchased in 2005 from Fort Macon Marina as a leftover with 9 hours total on engine.

5.0 litre VP EFI fresh water cooled half system with VP duoprop outdrive. 360 hours.

Furuno and King fishfinders, Garmin GPS128, Loran C, Epirb, 4 man life raft, 600 feet anchor line and full custom Sunbrella cover.

Outdrive and props have been pulled yearly for inspection. New starter 2009.

Includes outdrive removal tool pictured.

I winterized the boat last fall and fired it up a couple of weeks ago. Cranked right up, idled and throttled up nicely and I ran it for about 20 minutes until the high pressure fuel pump started whining and shut off the engine.

Apparently this is a common problem with these pump assemblies and is well documented on numerous message boards. I suspected that the fuel check valve at the tank was stuck (actually I wished it), but that was not the problem so it's either the low pressure lift pump or the high pressure pump. Depending on where you look, these pumps can be found on the net from 580 bucks all the way up to 850.

The engine will still fire up and run, but will die after about a minute.

The salt water wash down pump quit 3 years ago and I never replaced it as I had always used shore water to wash the boat. Other than those two things, everything else was working fine the last time we went out to the middle grounds. No issues.

This is a solid stable riding boat.

Way below book value and insurance replacement cost and even with a bad fuel pump, $15,000 is a deal.

$15,000

Boat is located in Reidsville, NC.

Sorry so long to answer, I did not have my alerts set in preferences.

According to my records, 2.5 n.m. per gallon average. That's at 3,000 - 3500 r.p.m's @ 22 - 24 knots which was measured over 1500 n.m. (7 trips dock to dock).

The boat's top speed is right at 38 knots on flat seas, but I've only ran it a few times at that speed since I've never been able to get that kind of weather on my trips.

The engine is rated @ 250 h.p.
