I am certainly not an expert on u-rigs, but I usually rig them wnd troll them with mono. I use a lighter test for the drops thinking that when I hang I can get the rig back. Doesn't always work that way as sometimes two or more drops will get caught. Another thing I try to do is use a 3 arm rig. On on of the arms I put a slightly heavier jig. The rig then seems to travel with the "heavy" arm down. Does seem to tangle less for me that way. But I too have to make the trip to BPS to buy more!
