Soaked a T-Bone in red cooking wine last night....it was GOOD!

Trollnheel,

What type of red wine do you use, and how long do you soak it for? I have heard steaks like that were very good.

Also for everyone here in NC, the steaks at Food Lion are terrible, but the Food Lions on the coast ( I know of the one in Sneads Ferry ) sell angus beef, which is much better. But the best steaks are black angus and come from Harris Teeter, or The Fresh Mart.

Whole chickens cut up into smaller pieces. Cook long and slow on low indirect heat in the back of the weber gas grill. When done, put in bowl and pour on homemade BBQ sauce (commercial sauce, olive oil, cider vinegar, hot sauce, mustard and anything else that tickles your fancy). Mix chicken and sauce, turn grill to high heat and singe the chicken for a very brief time.

That is our Saturday night meal of the week.

You got that right seajay. I cooked some BBQ chicken Monday night. Low, slow and smoky, then dump'em in the sauce while they rest.

Try this. Take some corn on the cob, rub with butter, sprinkle on some Old Bay, wrap in foil and through on the grill while your meat is cooking.

BAM!!!!

Add a little parmesan cheese (the powdered kind) to that corn...you'll love it, guar-on-teed

David,

The best meat around here is found at "The Pig Store" aka Piggly Wiggly. Also, on highway 24, the Pig store in Swansboro is awesome and the IGA further towards Morehead is also very good.

I have not tried Piggly Wiggly's steaks yet, but I love there pork products! I will have to give them a try one night.

Thanks

David
