My Uncle is looking at a 2004 one with a 90. Are they decent boats?

I believe you will find that Famous Craft Boats are part of the Rinker Boat Family.. Rinker has been making pleasure craft style boats for some time.

Famous Craft bought the hulls for the 1660, 18x8 and the 2300 for Flats & Bay. I believe the bought them in 2003.

The 1660 is one sweet lil boat. The boat rides incredible drafts about 9’ and poles easy. The only negative thing is the plastic hatches. They are not to water tight.

and with the 90hp you will see top speed 48mph........

He not looking for nor can he afford a top end boat, but he does not want something that is junky... I had just never heard of these hulls... he fishes for what y'all call redfish in shallow water and shrimps with castnet a lot in the fall, so the size and set up are what he needs...

Not sure about the older ones but from the ones I have looked like they seem nice but never ridden one, by the way they are built about 3-4 miles from my house here in Anderson SC
