I wiped my sweaty brow, massaged my scraping intestines, and looked both ways down the dusty highway, seeing only the tail of school bus steadily getting smaller above the roadway winding to the west. I thought about how empty this land would have been a few hundred years ago; I thought about Belgian beer and Dutch whores; I thought about baby seals and purple speedos; I though how Ludicrous my thoughts were.
