  1. These are all the improvements before the new 300 suzukie and moving the tank forward 5' I will post more photos of the changes soon. The Aumnum Arch was bought used for 750 bucks and was off a 27 Jupiter Steve Ran Last weekend to Walkers from Jupiter INlet Inlet ON the way home around the outside mantenalla from Grand Cay to JUpiter INlet fishing zig zag the whole way total fuel burn was 67 Gallons well over 110 miles running 32 mph in 2-3 seas.

  4. One more thng is the tabs are not an issue any longer the boat planes well w/ out them
  5. ok it is now June 2012.. Feed Up I gave the boat to Steve my brother in law told him what I belived the boat required. He Moved the fuel tank 5 ' forward there is no longer a step down into the cabin area. He added a 300 Hp Suzukie motor . Tonight the boat got on plan in about 5 seconds is almost perfect on cg and is getting about 2.4 mpg at 34 mph top speed was 45 we can now cruise at 33-35 mph Stve put 10 k into the boat including selling the 250 for 7 k.

  7. Andy - I was thinking about reducing the size of the main tank creating more below deck storage space in the rear and adding a tank in the cabin. I do not want to create bow steer so hence calculating the cg on the hull is very important. So you have the right idea
  8. Adding ballast in the cabin area is essentially what I want to do with the fuel relocation or a portion of the fuel relocated. Currently we hold 125 gal of fuel which is located centerline of boat from the helm bulkhead back 7' to the I/O bulkhead leaving about a 3' area which has now been converted to the bilge locker with a 24" hatch. There is a 12-14" space un occupied on either side of the existing fuel tank which could be modified for more fuel Saddle tanks and there is plenty of room in tha cabin area which can be modified to hold fuel 125 Gal fuel x 6.2# per = 775# Bracket 30" #200 Engine 560# get my drift
  9. Erie, I have owned the boat for about 18+ years now.. Originally set up with the Stern Based I/O no Jack shaft. We llive on the water w/out a lift so you can immagine that that old I/O just did not take that very well. The boat under went an extensive restoration project and looks great..and performs very well for its size. I have put a ton of money into the boate because my kids and wife have always loved it... I wish I could post some photos of everything done. On My wish list is 1. built in Live well at the Transome - Weight Problem again (I am going to buy one from Dusky and cut it in to the transome). 2. Floor boxes - under deck storage. 3. Move the fuel as forward as possible to create a larger below deck storage area. This is why determioning the CG with everthing measured is so critical. Ideally I am looking for a Naval Guy Like Micheael Peters who can run the cals to determine the feasability or an online program that I can purchase or run - Rhino? It is a project and what I and so manny more enjoy around here thanks wiley

  12. Tom They are Bennets and maybe I am off by a couple inches in each direction. I Nick of Nicks Creative in Riveria Fl added about a large a pair as possible for the room. If I run Full Trim down it helps but also compromises the speed

THanks Larry Yes I wholy agree on the kids bow ridding and wont allow that again The boat had an I/O and 350 which weihed 850# the suzukie weighs 560 on a 30" bracket I have moved the batteries and forward into the cabin area. I could sand bag it but would prefer not to add the additional weight. I will work on the sea saw math
  17. Hey Folks, I ve owned a 24 Albemarle 1983 since 1993. Several years ago we I spent a lot of time and money in addng a bracket and a single 250 Suzukie THe boat looks great but runs like SXXT. Its the old issue of always chasing my tail attepting to keep the boat on plane. 4 bladed props and big trm tabs have not corrected this issue. A couple of weeks ago on a very calm day I had 4 kids bow ridding on the front rail 465 # The boat planned out and ran 30 mph at 4400 rpm with no issues. I was very happy Does anyone know of a program online or an architect that I can give some detailed information to determine how to obtain the proper CG on the boat by moving or reconfiguring the fuel tank?
  18. OK zThis is how I spent the last 3 days with 3 good helpers myself and my co owner brother in law. We are now 3/4 finished. Go Out and have it Soda Blasted I wish I did Pressure cleaning will damage the gelcoat. I know this for a fact I have a 24 albemarle which we added a bracket to about 4 years ago. we have owned the boat sionce 1992 it is a 1983 and had bottom paint on and added to it for the last 30 years. I have scrapped about 40 # of Bottom Paint off we are now sanding off the primer. The portion of the boat which did not sit in the water is the hardest most diofficult section of paint to remove. I could be arrested for impersonating a vodville performer Good luck
  19. Galvanic action is an issue. I love it but if stays in the water look out Do what I did go buy an out board you never look back
  20. The last 3 look good to me I think the 35 contender is now the old 33 which is still fairly new I dont know what they call the 35 side console?

  22. I would take a look at the Bluewater 355 also. An awesome riding and well layed out boat in the size your looking at. I'd be willing to bet at a better price too. Well it is on the short list along with two others. pro's - finished innner linner on all boxes Most room aft of the leaning post etc. Finish and decking is great. I like the continuing rising bow. We free dive alot The integrated platform is easy to board from the side of transome as aposed to squeezing between motors at the stern. Cons - minor stuff bow entry stem appears a little straight Console fromt seating rounded prefer square for 3 little crap. My biggest issue is that we dive as much as we fish so that was the problem faced with most of the other. 2nd - Invincible 36 and Seahunter 37 contender 33 getting closer
