Here on Lake Erie we do things way different. Offshore means you are floating....

Brokers are governed by laws to provide you with free and clear titles; but make sure they escrow the dollars pending producing said clear title--or better yet maybe you should escrow the dollars at a bank of the sellers choice; might work with a private sale as well. Arrange so the dollars are only released once a clear title has been provided and signed off lien free.

Hi Joe: don't visit this one all that often and been out of town in fla for a few weeks; this forum is a little more calm and friendly if you get what I mean; but then that's also why it is a little more dormant as well.

Ok, I'll go first. Maybe it was watching Sea Hunt with my Dad; Lloyd Bridges boat was too cool with the outriggers and all. Maybe it was Flipper; maybe it was all the old war movies I watched with my brother about the Navy. But what really sticks in my mind is going to Sandusky, Ohio and, while my Mother shopped she'd give me 50 cents to go and ride the ferry boats back and forth to Cedar Point amusement park. I'd even get to steer the boat on days that they weren't real busy. Later we bought a home on the river and that finally iced the cake for me---what about all of you?

For years Bob, they were the number one boat builder in the world, as you know, and I believe they are still number 2 to Sea Ray in terms of sheer numbers. There are bound to be a few detractors like you see herein when there are that many boats out there. Salespeople have been running them down for years just because they couldn't value compete any other way; and that is really the main reason so many people who have no clue as to the quality of the product cast stones. You tell someone often enough something is bad, they begin to believe it.

Chopper gun boat? Says who? It's built right alongside the Sea Rays and has been for a while. And, by the way, the first thing you see hanging at the head of the layup line in every boat builder I have ever visited is a chopper gun. Your remark tells me you have not been in a build facility or you wouldn't describe the process in that manner. The "skin coat" is applied to the gelcoat, which is the first layer into the mold, with the chopper gun. Bayliner is as good a boat as any; does it lack gingerbread like a Sea Ray has? Sure; but it shares windshields, cabin applications, hardware and engines and drives with the very same Sea Ray and both are owned by Brunswick. Your chopper gun story is a worn out old wives tale used in the eighties by salespeople who had no clue how to sell against a value based builder--hence the terminology of "chopper gun boat"
