  1. The hulls were changed in 2007 or 2008 if I remember correctly. They are much improved of the Sea Fox of old. Quality is good, fit and finish is better (see below decks) and the ride is good as well. I have a 2010 256 WA. My last boat was a '97 Seamaster (Renken) which was the precursor to the Sea Fox line. My 2010 is much improved of the 1997.
  2. southhonda.com will NOT be my choice Mr. Williams since you decided to spam this board. If you read the original post (which you didn't) you would see that I asked for recommendations on Honda MARINE dealers - not car dealers. Why you would come to a marine board and try to see me a car, is beyond me....
  3. Thanks Welder!! That's where I got this list of names from. I don't see how to tell if they are 5 star dealer though. Any ideas? Thanks!
  4. Anybody have any recomendations on a Honda Dealer in South Florida? I live in Jupiter and would like to stay somewhat local. Dealers closet to me are as follows - sorted by distance. 1.) Hobe Sound Marine - Hobe Sound 2.) ARG Marine - West Palm Beach 3.) Seven Seas Yacht Sales - Stuart (they did the service on my stolen motors) 4.) Sea and Sea Marine - Boca Raton (never heard of them - at all) 5.) St. Lucie Outboard - Ft. Pierce I called Treasure Coast Boating Center but they are not a full line dealer so no go. Working on getting quotes today.
  5. Welder - thanks! That's a great idea! I'll see if Honda can keep an eye out for me as they are twins. I had Honda register the SN's as stolen, so that should help as well. My thought is that they are on their way to Cuba, Mexico, Jamica or the Bahamas to go to work on a fishing boat by now.
  6. Allright guys - need some help. I had 2 - 2009 Honda BF 150's stolen in Jupiter last night. Motors are 25" shaft, counter rotation. Thieves stole from Public Storage on Military Trail. They cut the fence, unbolted the motors and wheeled them out. If anyone hears of any for sale in south Florida, please PM me so that I can check serial numbers. Theft occurred on 2/1 - 2/2 between the hours of approximately 9:00 pm and 8:00 am.
  7. Found this online: http://www.boatdesign.net/forums/powerboats/ram-air-stepped-hull-22777.html Can't tell you anything else...
  8. I couldn't talk the Admiral into going. Seems that she had made plans for us the same time I was making plans. The other couple couldn't get a sitter in time, so we went to dinner. I'll be sure to plan better next year!
  9. I was trying to decide if I should go to near Little Munyon and watch or go up to Jupiter. I live in Juipter and the boats in Jupiter but I don't know if they will let us anchor near the coast guard station. I'd love to watch the parade and fireworks from the boat, but I don't know the logistics. The website shows the boat viewing area near little munyon and nowhere else. I almost think I'd rather fight the boat traffic than the foot traffic at the parks.
  10. Anybody ever been by boat? Is it worth it - other than getting the boat wet. Any tips?
  11. Check out outboard specialities in Pompano Beach, FL. http://fixboat.com/ Suzuki dealer that takes in trades.
  12. too hard to read with the new color scheme.
  13. Wow! Great info BMARKEY! Any thoughts of sending this to the local news media? Maybe if Zapetis is tried in the "court of public opinion" somebody may try to charge him for the cleanup?
  14. Glad these things are finally gone! They were such an eyesore!! http://www.wptv.com/dpp/news/region_c_palm_beach_county/abandoned-barge-removed-from-peanut-island PEANUT ISLAND, Fla. - An abandoned barge has been removed from its home one hundred yards off of Peanut Island in Palm Beach County. At nearby Riviera Beach Marina, some business owners are saying good riddance. Randy Andersen, owner of Blue Water Power Boat Rentals said, "It has been an eyesore and even beyond that it will open the channel up a little bit because there gets to be a lot of congestion, especially on the weekend when there's a lot of boat traffic. So that being removed definitely opens things up." The abandoned barge was one of three floating less than one hundred yards away from Peanut Island. All three are now headed to a scrap yard in Fort Pierce. Ocean Quest Scuba owner Vicky Shaffer calls the barges a safety hazard. "When we're taking people around between dives, we'll go around the island and we'll show them some sites, so it is an eyesore," said Shaffer. According to the U.S. Coast Guard, Lockheed Martin contracted a company to take the barges to the scrap yard. It's not clear who owned them because their hull numbers are rusted off. With the bucket of rust headed away the other two barges won't be far behind. The U.S. Coast Guard says if Tuesday's trip goes well then the other two barges could be gone in a matter of a few weeks.
  15. That was my original thought too, but it's an 18' Sunbird. While it wouldn't look like a normal trafficing boat, I don't think it would hold many people either.
  16. This seems a little fishy to me. I was thinking it was scuttled for insurance purposes when I first heard it, but now that the boat is not registered I doubt they had insurance. No missing persons report either. http://www.wptv.com/dpp/news/region_indian_river_county/vero_beach/boat-washes-ashore-near-vero-beach%2C-as-many-as-3-divers-unaccounted-for Posted: 08/04/2010 Last Updated: 14 hours and 15 minutes ago By: Jon Shainman VERO BEACH, Fla. - When Dave Jenkins took his dog Domingo out for a walk Wednesday morning, he was surprised to see an abandoned boat that had washed ashore just north of Round Island Park. The park sits just north of the Indian River/St. Lucie County line. "The boat was abandoned, half covered in sand and had about 8 or 10 PFDs, personal flotation devices, strewn about there," said Jenkins. The boat was first spotted late Tuesday night with three people believed to be fishing or snorkeling. Then around 1:30 Wednesday morning, a resident called in after the boat ran aground and no one was spotted on board. Using a boat and a helicopter, the U. S. Coast Guard searched the ocean for hours, stopping around 10:15. Residents say there was also at least one immigration agent on scene and a tracking dog. It was a lot of activity for a traditionally quiet stretch of beach. "Normally you see about three people on the beach, this was a crowd of seven," said Simon Jenkins a little tongue-in-cheek. The boat is named the "Shorty Purdue" and was at one time based out of Islamorada. According to Florida Fish and Wildlife agents, the boat is not currently registered. It had been sold by a New Jersey resident about a year ago, but that owner has since died. Authorities have not received any missing person reports and the boat has not been reported stolen. The Coast Guard said it would be working on getting a salvage crew to remove the boat.
  17. "Pulled his keg up on the beach" Nuff said. Rick I suggested to him that my crew would help him polish off the keg and then he could use the tap as a bilge pump. He didn't like that idea. I don't know if he didn't want to share his beer or he didn't want saltwater in the tap.
  18. So - hanging out at Peanut Island Sunday when a 17' something or other comes flying in really low in the water. Ran up on the beach as far as she could. Turns out that the boat had a leak (owner knew about it) and the bilge pump wasn't working. Myself and a few other guys assisted in trimming the motor down to the sand (so it wouldn't go under) as he had trimmed it up all the way trying to beach. We then lifted the bow up to get most of the water out. The owner pulled his keg to the beach and decided to stay. I guess there wasn't much else he could do. Questions - have you or would you ever risk running a boat without testing your bilge pump? Do you test your bilge pumps prior to getting under way? Would you run a boat with a slow leak with a working bilge pump?
  19. I wonder if it was the Intrepid that sits by itself on the dock just past Remora Bay Marina. I spoke to a guy there a while ago who said that the owner doesn't live on the island and comes over from the states (I think) to use it. Wouldn't think the keys would be on her, but you never know. Here's a picture of the shot out motors: http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_rhlu84BFsP...nes+no+go2.JPG http://www.romorabay.com/ If you look at the photo gallery from the marina, I think this Intrepid was kept on the lift at the standalone pier to the left of the marina.
  20. Bluewaterpirate - Been there, done that on the USS Semmes DDG-18. Wasn't 75 footers, but it was 40 - 50 footers. Took water over the brige. We all joked we should get submarine pay for that trip. We stuffed our boots under the side of our mattresses as well as keeping the straps up to keep us from falling out of our racks.
  21. Happened a couple of weeks ago. Here is the story and my a picture from this weekend: The yacht La Diva was completely destroyed in a fire Sunday morning at Rybovich Marina at 45th Street and Flagler Drive. In 2008, the 104.35-foot-long vessel was owned by Cristina and Bill Kallop. It was last reported seen on Nov. 5, 2008 in Palm Beach by yachtspotter.com. The Italian built yacht, formerly called the Ivana and previously owned by Ivana Trump, was valued at $3,750,000 in 2005 according to www.superyachttimes.com. William Kallop also owns and is restoring the former presidential yacht Honey Fitz. Palm Beach Fire-Rescue offered mutual aid at the scene to the West Palm Beach Fire Department. Fire rescue crews continued to rotate through the site of the fire throughout the afternoon.
