  1. For Underwater, I would suggest Lumitec, Shadow-Caster or OceanLED. We've had very good luck with all of those brands. They spend lots of money on testing, development, etc.. For under gunnels lights, SeaMaster LED trips work pretty well and aren't too expensive. There's also LED rope light or LED ribbon, although the ribbon isnt as heavy duty as the rope or the SeaMaster strips. Interior/Exterior lighting, I would suggest anything by Hella, IMTRA or Lumitec. All quality stuff made by good companies. All of the Lumitec stuff is made in the USA and some of the IMTRA is as well.
  2. What type of LED lights are you looking for? Underwater, Gunnel, Interior? We have a wide selection of most brands: http://www.yachtlights.com/

  5. Those Atwood do look pretty neat with the indicator on top. Hella also makes some similar ones, but they don't have the indicator on top. Take a look at the Hella Marine line, we use them alot and have had very good luck with their quality. The ones eliteftaud mentioned are really slick looking, SeaVee uses them as well, but they have to be molded into the T-Top. You can't just use a couple of SeaMaster strips for NAV lights because they would not meet the USCG 2NM rating.
  6. Go with the OceanLED Amphibian A6 or A12's. All you have to drill is a 3/8" hole for the wire and a couple of SS screws to hold them in. They are also made of a composite, so you won't have any issues with corrosion. For a 23' boat I would not recommend the more expensive thru-hull models. Both OceanLED and Abyss' surface mount lights are so bright, that there's really no need to drill larger holes and spend more money for the thru-hull types. Also, the Amphibians can be operated out of the water, or when your up on plane. You can leave them on 24/7 in the hot sun and they will be just fine. If they were to ever overheat, they will dim down to 50% intensity until they cool down. You can see a side by side comparison of all the lights here to give you a better idea of just how bright they are. Underwater Light Comparison OceanLED Amphibians
  7. I just installed it on my 3210 last week (XM Fisherman Package) and got to use it over the weekend. The weather was nice all weekend, so I didn't get to see any storms on it, or anything else for that matter. Besides a 83.5F marked in one spot, I couldn't see any other data displayed anywhere. I played around with the presets (General, Sea State, etc), but nothing really changed. Should it be displaying anything is the sky is clear?
  8. NAPA makes AUTOMOTIVE cables that are designed for CARS. You will have problems using non-marine type cables and you're going to end up spending much more to diagnose the problem and end up getting marine cables at the end. Just do it right from the beginning, it's not that expensive.
  9. 35W Halogen ones will not be very bright, and you will have to make sure you don't EVER turn them on while the boat is out of the water, or up on a place. They will overheat and burn out the bulb, damaged the socket and could crack the lens. However, for the price you found these, you're not going to find any LED lights, or any LED lights that will last more then a few months. You may be able to find some "closeouts" or "last year's models" from some of the top LED brands for very cheap if you call around. At this past Dania Marine Flea Market we had some OceanLED Thru-Hull LED models that used to sell for $995.00 and we were selling them for $150/each just because they were discontinued.
  10. As long as you have 12VDC going to that switch, all you will have to do it take our your existing fixtures, and connect the + & - of the new lights to your existing wires.
  11. Hella makes a very nice LED Engine Room light. It's a little pricey, but it's very durable and very bright: DuaLED Engine Room Light Many people are also using the SeaMaster 20" Strips for Engine Room lights. They are not as bright, but cost much less: SeaMaster LED Strips
  12. Do not use automotive cable. Purchase either Anchor or Pacer brand marine cable, and try and have the Lugs crimped on using a Hex type crimp tool.
  13. We got 5-6 different models: http://www.yachtlights.com/cat--Utility-Li...--utilitylights This is our latest model below. Only 2" diameter and 800 Lumens (10 Watt LED)
