  1. Hi guys, Im moving on up! I am putting my 38 Henriques on the market as I would like to get into a 2-3 SR convertible to accommodate some longer trips in better comfort. Quick rundown: Asking price of $229,500 38' LOA 13'10" Beam 4' Draft Twin 420 Yanmar 6cx-ete motors (2900 hrs) 7.5kw Westerbeke genset (630 hrs) 23 kt cruise @ 34 gph, range of 360 nm. This boat is fish rigged better than any other 38 Henriques on the market, and has been updated continuously while I have owned it. Im not going to spout on about an "open checkbook" policy, because that is pretty much BS. I can say that although the boat has been fished regularly, it has been maintained and improved while doing so. Upgrades include: New center rigger 2011 4 rod Arrigoni Rocket Launcher 2011 New Simrad NSE electronics package 2011 New AC pump and motor 2012 New salon cabinetry and TV/DVD combo 2011 New Polycarbonate enclosure with rear strata glass 2012 New cockpit combing pads and helm seating 2012 Reupholstered Stidd Helm seats 2013 Rebuilt ZF electronic controls 2012 ( servo motors are belt driven with tiny belts; guess what breaks?? extra belt kits are with boat for future needs) Custom rod storage custom mounted shark/tuna/billfish magnets with remote helm switching All livewell/freshwater/washdown pumps replaced 2012 New barrier coat and bottom job done 2007 Head rebuilt 2013 Electronics package includes: Simrad NSE 12 and 8 MFDs Simrad 64nm 6kw Radar Simrad BSM-1 Sounder module Simrad WX Siruis weather/radio module Simrad AP-22 Autopilot SH GX2150 AIS VHF radios w/ new 17' antennas (2) Clarion Stereo Wiring to receive NSE display on Salon TV Engines have been yard serviced and have received regular maintenance as required by yanmar, including: New injectors 2500 hrs. New heat exchangers 2008 turbos cleaned 2009 and 2012 All filters and oil changed/checked at regular intervals. Boat needs very little to be 100%, and was just recently hauled for the season. About as turnkey of a fishing machine as you can get. Check out my yachtworld listing for the boat HERE. Offers encouraged, and thanks for taking a look! Ryan
  2. Oh give it a rest... Keep your pandering over on THT.
  3. I have the round magma in the rodholder as well. Its a nice little setup, but same as above, I should have sprung for the larger one. All in all, its a great thing to have on board.
  4. What was the old joke?? A Blow boater goes on vacation with a $20 bill and one pair of underwear; and doesn't change either one....
  5. Agree with everything that has been posted. As the tow, you should toss your line to the "salvor". Also, don't worry about a dedicated line, as posted above, your anchor rode (assuming you have the proper size) will be enough to tow you in calm to moderate seas (for open water, pay out your entire rode, shorten as you come inshore). I doubt you will part the line in all but a really bad sea.
  6. I would have to agree with you. If they called me and said my raft was NG, I would certainly want to be there to SEE what was wrong, and/or what the reasoning was to condemn the raft. And disposal?? No way, give it back to me and I'll use it as a pool toy; I'm not paying for disposal.
  7. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uLkTU49GtJg Just not right
  8. I still use the 80's for bigeye and bluefin up here... If you guys are looking to unload them, give me a call and lets talk price! They would make a good planar reel, up to say a 16 or 24 oz. planar. for a kite rod, its alot of overkill.
  9. I would like to hijack for a moment if I could. One of my goals this summer is to get a few mahi on the fly, while fishing the lobster pots out here in the NE canyons. Anyone have any favorite flies that you turn to for this??
  10. I am assuming that you got your service done at LRSE down in Portsmouth, RI. They are a good company, but they are one of the highest priced shops around. If you are here in NE, I would suggest going to Westerbeke Marine in East Boston. They are a commercial outfit, and have prices much more reasonable. I saved about 30% and they can make repairs and work with what you have. Best of Luck, Ryan
  11. I was planning on this weekend, but when I was cleaning and painting the bottom the other week, I came across two Dings in my Stbd. Prop With a bit of convincing, I got a guy to fix them this week and have them back Friday, soooo... we are looking the week of the 13th to be in, give or take...
  12. I was on the news a few years back, when they were reporting on a Noreaster blowing through... Absent-mindedly, when the reporter asked me what precautions we were taking, I actually said "Well, we are just tightening up the lines and Battening down the hatches..." I actually was caught on tape...
  13. It's not just a folley of the unexperienced... Capt. Marty of the Xiao Mu Ji passed away in the fall after his rode tangled on him and pulled him under... Very sad case, and he was a Fine Captain with a lot of Experience... Freak accidents can happen.
  14. Sadly, the electric reels, or at least the Good ones, may run you more than the downriggers...
