  1. All the info above is right on target...match two group 31 deep-cycle batteries, mount those batteries as close to the trolling motor as reasonably possible (too far forward will cause too much bumping/bouncing)...make sure your connections are GOOD and maintain them...and hook them up to a good, waterproof onboard charger...mine stays plugged in 24/7 until I'm ready to use the boat...my boat has 4 batteries and two onboard chargers...
  2. Whether it was worth it or not is dependent on how far Regina bent over...if she plucked one off the top, probably not, but if she dug around in the bottom for a REEL COLD one, then hell yeah!!...JMHO...
  3. Whatever you do, I'd suggest trying a small area that may normally be hidden or out of the way and be sure the covering is actually going to STICK to your tile...
  4. The damage being right where you sit...I'd say go ahead and work up the nerve...anything you do will look like POOP and last about as long...
  5. I KNEW I shouldn't open this thread...why did I open this thread?...damn I knew better...
  6. Kamper...sorry so long on the reply... It controls the main cables to the motor and all accessories...bilge pump is on another battery...hope that satisfies an inquiring mind...
  7. Used the ramp at the Ocean Isle, NC bridge several times over a couple of week period recently...was coming out on a busy day to find a non-towing Durango partially blocking my exit...as I got closer, he pulled forward a bit, which actually CLOSED UP my available opening, but I knew I still had room to make it, although CLOSE, so I proceeded ahead, which caused me to go straight at the Durango until the last moment, then cut and slip through...the driver was a little shocked and as I went by him realized he was a DNR Officer in an unmarked (blue lights on the dash and him in uniform)...he had been sitting there in that much traffic, adding to the congestion, chatting w/some guy walking past...he gave me a look and I gave him a look right back and said, "Have a nice day" as I went by...seems those guys should be the LAST ones to add to the confusion at a busy ramp...
  8. I've put in a lotta hours on a friend's 243...fit, finish, quality of construction is as good as it gets...very SOLID feel to the hull and a layout other manufacturers should make note of...
  9. All the major brands of outboards are quiet and reliable...some are heavier than others...if weight is a factor, etec has them all beat...my dealer was a big factor in what motor I bought back in '04...have not regretted it since
  10. Trolling motors should be installed w/a plug-in (or disconnect)...I've always used a SS 3-prong male/female plug Unplug while charging and leave unplugged except while in use...my batteries are on an onboard charger until time to use the boat...
  11. A couple of years ago I toured the Pursuit factory...looked like a similar stringer system there...
  12. If it's a basic tiller-handle unit, you'll probably get it goin', but some of the auto-pilot, co-pilot jobs on the market today are fairly sophisticated for a first tinkerin' project...get power straight to the motor 1st to see if it even runs...JMHO...Good luck and let us know how it worked out...
  13. If you wanna replace the tranny and stringers on my old V, I'll sing about it on every boat forum I can find...I can be had, but I'm not cheap...
  14. I's thinkin' the same thing...like somma DIS!!... Bring 'er on down to North Carolina..those boys'll fix 'er up...
