  1. if you havent done this and you are going to use an hvlp make sure you use 100% acrylic latex paint.Ive had some amazing results with DTM(direct to metal) paints thinned about a quarter. you WILL have to thin it .also use some cheesecloth or a paint strainer to strain the paint first. oil paint doesnt work all that well through an hvlp(although I havent tried in 10 or more years, oil paint has changed since then) an hvlp does not atomize the paint but kind of spits it through. obviously try a test till you get a consistency in the paint that sprays well. good luck
  2. I actually really like the lines and the flybridge on that old girl. What is it?
  3. There is a guy on THaT other board that just posted a bunch of them. better hurry
  4. The Haba' Has been a bit tough this season ,so far.I've been over there a bunch of times and have still to land a legal bass. I think it will pick up soon though. There has been a push of big fish outside the harbor in the last few days. I had a couple bruisers a few days ago. Speaking of the harbor, I'm heading over there in about 15 minutes. Good luck
  5. Looking for a XXH shimano trevala. If anyone has one they're not using. I'll take it. For a reasonable price. Thanks.
  6. forget the macks ,long gone. jig some small pollack. they will work.
  7. I run one a different color and further back than most, but haven't tried a larger one . I might this weekend though. The fish just showed here the other day. I can't wait.
  8. good idea. I baitfish for cod and haddock and sometimes have 4 rods or more running. I know exactly the problem you mention. braid can be a real bich'. Now, if I could only afford three or four spools of different colored braid.
  9. I hate trailering any distance.3 wheel bearings in 2 years. and I keep up with the maintenance. last one, last fall, doing 55 on rt.1 in Mass. God awfull noise ,then look in the rearview to see flames! shooting in the air, my trailer dragging the leaf springs ,spindle etc. at 55mph. interesting mess and quite an interesting day. flat bed, new axle etc. boat down for 2 weeks. I should start carrying all the stuff you do. probably wouldn't have made a difference. good luck with yours.
  10. These are just a few sabikis I had in work^^ I had a friend help me post them(actually he posted them) I have these things hanging all over the place at home. Of coarse there are countless variations, but here in the northeast, these colors tied on stainless #6 hooks work wonders for mackeral and herring. also as Capt Hiott mentioned, these are easy, but somewhat time consuming to tie up,but I'm tying them on stainless, and unless some larger critter destroys one ,I can usually get a season out of 1 rig.
  11. I'm workin on it, Get back to you soon. those look sweet, by the way.
  12. Dayum, Thats going to be a pretty boat. I love that classic style flybridge.
  13. Any, other metal that comes in contact with aluminum will eventually cause corrosion.I don't know if there is a solution, but an Idea that came to mind, for your situation is, why not add a thin aluminum plate between the support and the actual trailer?like a sacrificial zinc, only aluminum.
