Capt. Bouncer's Introduction to the Circle Hook

I am selling my Whaler. It is 27'4" with the Whalerdrive. Powered by twin 1992 Yamaha 200HP engines. The engines are counter rotating. The boat has a full transom with a live well and pressure sink. Moving forward there is. Hardtop with full enclosure. There is also a cockpit mooring cover. The boat has original electronics ,radar, fish finder, chart plotter, and autopilot. In the cabin there is another sink ,full berth with filler, table, and porta potti under the starboard bunk. A 2005 trailer is included. Trailer has only been used to launch and retrieve the boat in the spring and fall. The engines hours are unknown as the previous owner wasn't sure. I have averaged less than fifty hours per season since buying the boat five years ago. My mechanic has kept the engines in fine running form, but has told me I will either need a rebuild or new engines in a couple of years. I will put up pictures when I can figure out how to do it. A google search of 1992 Whaler brings up the pics of this boat on he other boat site. I am asking $24,000 firm.

Well, I just got back from the show at FORT LAUDERDALE. I sea trialed the CABO 36. The boat had C-7's with ZF pod drives (new system from ZF). The boat had a marlin tower, the only way to go in a boat of this size in my opinion. The tower was gorgeous. The poles ran inside the cabin instead of in the outside, it was a new design. Easy to get up and down and the boat did not rock up there. Much to my surprise the boat ran as flat as you can expect, short of a bullet center console. Much of that in my opinion was due to the pods. I do not believe that the shafts would make the bow go that much more higher. I was very satisfied with the boat. I tested the boat on Monday and the seas were 4 to 5. Ideal nasty sea to try the boat. I felt the boat very light, perhaps due to the fact that it had 1/2 tank of diesel and of course no fishing gear. We were 6 people in it. I also felt that the C-7's were very powerful. The acceleration was very quick. The boat was very responsive due to the pods. It was like riding a big center console. I wonder how much the boat would loose in terms of efficiency with regular shafts. Could not get an answer from the ZF or Cabo people there. Here are some pictures, not good ones, but at least some pictures. Quality was outstanding. The boat did NOT pound and we DID NOT get wet. I tried the sucker in all directions at different speeds. Only down side was the price, for a boat this size.

I'm posting this ad for a friend. I've fished on this boat ~40 times over the past few years so I can probably answer general questions, but please direct anything specific to the owner (contact information below). We're planning to purchase a new boat together when this one sells, so obviously I think he maintains his stuff and treats it right.
’04 Jones Brothers Cape Fisherman 2000LT
Location: Deale, MD
Model: Cape Fisherman 2000 Light Tackle Edition
Power: Yamaha F150 (515 hrs)
Trailer: Loadrite tandem axle roller trailer (galvanized)
This model was designed specifically for light tackle and fly fishing, but it also works perfectly well for trolling. It’s fuel efficient yet seaworthy. I’ve been extremely pleased with this boat but am upgrading to a 25 footer.
Both the boat and trailer are clean and well-maintained, with everything in good working condition. The bimini top was installed in spring 2011. It collapses down and out of the way when not in use.
The boat has been stored either on the trailer (covered) or in an enclosed boatel, except for one season in a slip. The bottom paint (light gray, ablative) is gradually wearing off.
I’m including several pictures in this post (below). You can see dozens more at this link:
I’m happy to answer questions. Thanks for looking.

I got a question about draft. The Jones Brothers website (http://www.jonesbrot..._capefish20.htm) reports the draft as 12". I just called the owner, Jon, and he agrees with that number.
Also, the boat does not squat when getting up on plane. You throttle up, the bow stays level, and you're on plane pretty much immediately. That makes the boat very nimble for chasing schools of breaking fish (which is pretty much the main type of fishing we do for a couple months every year in the Chesapeake Bay). But on the flats that characteristic would also obviously be a benefit.

I have a 2005 Bay Craft 185 Flats Edition w/ a Mercury 115 4-stroke. The boat is in great shape and the motor itself looks like new and just came out of the box. It has a BRAND NEW $300 boat cover! The cowling has some nicks and scratches on it from a light hail shower that appeared out of nowhere when it was in the water. The motor runs great and is extremely fuel efficient. The tank holds 40 gallons. My last fishing trip with my nephew we only burned 21 gallons total in the 4 days of fishing and running from spot to spot with us 2 weighing 375lbs and all our gear and water in the bait well. The boat has a 9" draft and will get you in the skinny waters and up in the marsh where reds, trout, flounder and other great fish like to hang out. This boat is all composite NO WOOD!! This boat was designed for versatile performance, it guides you through the flats effortlessly and handles bay waters with a dry comfortable ride. Built with a one piece molded deck, cockpit liner, and fish boxes for a stronger unibody construction. Its finish is second to none with diamond plated nonskid throughout. All hatches have deep gutters for dry storage, self bailing cockpit and wide walk around gunwales, huge casting deck, large anchor storage, extra large circular live well, catch and release well, huge dry storage compartment, comes with trim tabs, tilt steering, lockable rod lockers, poling platform, push pole, Lowrance M68C deepwater Color S/Map, Saltwater 24v trolling motor with an onboard charger, 2 snap on cushion seats, one in front of the center console and an extra wide one for the driver and other passangers along with a removable backrest. Im asking $19,999. The boat is located in Townsend, Ga. If you have any questions please feel free to call/text me at 404-403-8631.
