  1. Yes Viking will introduce the new 42 Convertible, 70 Convertible, and 70 Enclosed Bridge. Also new will be Bertram's new 800. Hatteras will present its new 60 GT the first of this new series. While sister company also owner by Brunswick presents the new Cabo 44 HTX. Only a cruiser but Tiara's also shows its new 4500 Sovran. Another cruiser of a similar size will be the new Cruiser 48 Cantius. And for you entry levels will be also a the new Bayliner 285 Cruiser. Thats what I remeber out of my head.
  2. I love the 3m and starbrite products. The fiberglass restorer does miracles for mdeium oxidation. I also use Farecla and Starbrite products and both are good. Still have to try the PTEF polish, but reviews on it are amazing. But is not a cleaner and is only a protectant so is just the final touch. Next year I will combine it with 3m combounds and cleaners.
  3. Keep them coming GUS. Thats a nice timeless machine.... The 38 like yours was my first getting in touch with a Bertram back in the eighties....
  4. happy 2010 hope all the best for the just started year to all
  5. hi MEK nice job Hatteras own refurb program replaces this with crystaized glass glued windows. Are you doing something similar?
  6. the Bertram is not cored below waterline and none of its model or has been as far AFAIK here is the building method for a 630 and any other Bertram HULL AND DECK CONSTRUCTION Deck: hand laid-up molded fiberglass hull with solid core and sandwich construction Flybridge: hand laid-up molded fiberglass and sandwich construction Hull sides above waterline - vacuum bagged with divinycell core Hull: hand laid-up fiberglass, solid keel, chines and bottom with vacuum bagged cored hullsides Solid fiberglass hull bottom. Hull sides & superstructure laminated with high density foam. the underwater photos on YF confirm this is a solid bottom boat most of Sportfish yachts are built glass only accept Viking (balsa) and Cabo (corecell) and Egg Harbour (but its very confusing what they do on the other brands ie. Davis etc) Cabo and Viking are ironically the two best sold brands in this type of boats
  7. I posted a post about this all matter here Bertram vs Buoy this story is getting very interesting, the more time passes
  8. someone posted this letter from Bertram President on the YF, this was a reply sent to those who asked information to Bertram about this incident "Dear Bertram Employees, Dealers, and Friends, I am writing to provide some additional information on the unfortunate November 6th sinking of a Bertram 63 off the coast of South Carolina. As I indicated earlier, I am committed to providing complete and up-to-date information as the investigation progresses and details emerge. During this time, I am devoting my full attention to this matter. The key points I want to convey about the incident are: Most importantly, the captain and his friend/passenger were safely taken off the boat without injury. While tropical storm force currents initially complicated the search, the sunken boat was finally located recently in approximately 80 feet of water a short distance from the rescue point. The initial data we received --- from the boat’s captain, from eye-witnesses who arrived on the scene to aid in the rescue, and from analysis of the debris in the water --- clearly indicated that the boat hit something in the water. All new information collected since the event, further supports an apparent collision with something in the water. There is substantial evidence that the Bill Perry Reef Buoy at the location of the incident was recently struck with significant force. An examination of the boat by divers at its resting point reveal that the starboard rudder shaft is bent aft and the starboard propeller exhibits a substantial ding consistent with that propeller hitting something in the water. The extensive damage to the bow portion of the craft is also consistent with an impact of significant force that could have breached the hull and created an unrecoverable scenario. It is important to note that these are only preliminary findings based on a first dive of the craft. Other details may be uncovered as investigators begin the intensive work of piecing back together the events that led to the sinking of this vessel. We feel that it is important to keep you up to date on the findings and will continue to update you on the facts surrounding this accident as they come available. Please feel free share this information with all parties you feel may benefit from the information. And if you have any questions or comments on this matter, please contact me at +1 305 633 - 8011. Regards, Michael W. Myers President Bertram Yacht Inc. (305) 633 - 8011"
  9. I think this one is powered by Cummins, and used to be owned by an Americas Cup Commodore Judge of Maltese nationality John Ripard they have a local chandlery and are dealers for various other makes like Volvo Penta, Johnson outboards, and Zodiac... by the brochure that Auguste posted this might be hull 1 or one of the first numbers, as the spray painting is identical to that boat...
  10. thats a very nice Hatteras MEK so please keep the project update coming
  11. no Bertram ownership ever so far, but I have managed a 510 for a couple of months fabolous machine... I have also managed a Ferretti 53 in the past a very good boat indeed, been out on it in 7 footers Force 6 head seas at 26 knots and the boat behaved very good... may be will consider a Bert 390 in the future if I will do the convertible move and so far no $ from any of the Ferretti Group unfortunatly, if you know someone there and want to give a push I will be more then happy, tell them to put a sponsor on RB too... I just posted here because it is a sportfish yacht, and here we discuss those
  12. if there is different people as much as needs to be...
  13. using Zeus I think there is not much changes in hull design beneath the water lines, accept for the change in tunnel sizes and configurations to accommodate the ZF Zeus pods, amd four units the engine are located aft, and I am sure the stringer engine bed system is totally reconfigured
  14. yes Pershing 64 is very nice I visited hull number one a year ago and was impressed, those Pershing are good boats to what I have seen so far, and I seen quite a few of them. Here is a link to a review I did back then Pershing 64 review ah if you are deciding for this size don't forget to look at the new Sessa C68 here is also priced very competitive: www.sessamarine.comhere
