  1. Any comments on this boat, how it runs, bow high or not, fit and finish, quality, ride, etc. Who has one or has been in one. What are the best engines?
  2. Here are the pictures I could not upload in the other chapter.
  3. Well, I just got back from the show at FORT LAUDERDALE. I sea trialed the CABO 36. As said before in this post, it had C-7's with ZF pod drives (new system from ZF). The boat had a marlin tower, the only way to go in a boat of this size in my opinion. The tower was gorgeous. The poles ran inside the cabin instead of in the outside, it was a new design. Easy to get up and down and the boat did not rock up there. Much to my surprise the boat ran as flat as you can expect, short of a bullet center console. Much of that in my opinion was due to the pods. I do not believe that the shafts would make the bow go that much more higher. I was very satisfied with the boat. I tested the boat on Monday and the seas were 4 to 5. Ideal nasty sea to try the boat. I felt the boat very light, perhaps due to the fact that it had 1/2 tank of diesel and of course no fishing gear. We were 6 people in it. I also felt that the C-7's were very powerful. The acceleration was very quick. The boat was very responsive due to the pods. It was like riding a big center console. I wonder how much the boat would loose in terms of efficiency with regular shafts. Could not get an answer from the ZF or Cabo people there. Here are some pictures, not good ones, but at least some pictures. Quality was outstanding. The boat did NOT pound and we DID NOT get wet. I tried the sucker in all directions at different speeds. Only down side was the price, for a boat this size. I do not care about pods. They are expensive and would not last 48 hours in the Gulf of Panama, due to the amount of logs in the water. Besides, no one can fix them down here. They have to invent a system that when they hit a lug, they lift, much like an outboard to avoid rupture.

  5. Anybody has one? Quality is out of the question: one of the best. I would like to know about the ride. I have been told that it rides a little bow high . . . is it true? I am going over to the FORT LAUDERDALE BOAT SHOW next week but do not know if I will have the time to try it out, or if they will let me. Please fell free to comment all aspects of the boat, but most importantly, the ride. I shall have it with a small marlin tower, NO TUNA TOWER. What would be the second best alternative? HENRIQUES 38? OUT ISLAND 38? ALBEMARLE 38? CAROLINA CLASSIC 35? NORTH RIP 36? JERSEY CAPE 36?
  6. I have 2 batteries in my boat and a Sportsman SE battery charger/banks inside the boat. When we go fishing at night, I connect a 1,000 VA generator to the battery charger and run all electronics on the boat: bait well pump, stereo, flood lights, underwater led lights, etc. while we bottom fish, all night. Zero problem so far. Could I be doing something wrong? By the way, the switch of the engines are off and the engines and off.
  7. Anybody knows if the new BERTRAM 41, which was showing at the BERTRAM's web page has been discontinued . . it is no longer showing in their web page. If so, it is shame, that is one beautiful and practical boat.
  8. Would you be so kind to inform what is the length of the beautiful wodden floor boat . . . is it a 34?
  9. Dear Wiley, thank you for the pictures, appreciated. Could not make it to FLORIDA this year.
  10. Aitken, those were the aliens who implanted a tracking device on you.
  11. Great. LUDICROUS I hope you had the chance to photograph the PREDATOR 35 and similar boats.
  12. Ludicrous, thank you very much for the trouble. I really like this boat. However, I keep receiving mixed signals in connection with the new version built by TROCKI. Please check this link where I ask about the boat, but have not received straight answers. Please do try the boat and see if it feels as small as people say it is and off balance with the added weight: too heavy?, quality? etc, etc. Please read the link: http://www.thehulltruth.com/boating-forum/...egg-harbor.html The only other boats that I have found in that layout (CENTER CONSOLE and benches on each side, entrance to the cabin in the middle), which is the one I am looking for, is the OUT ISLAND 38 and the JERSEY CAPE 36. I do not know much about the JERSEY CAPE, but know everything about the OUT ISLAND. The OUT ISLAND is drop dead gorgeous, but a little on the expensive side. The SPENCER 43 is much more expensive and the layout is a little different. Maybe the STRIKE 37 EXPRESS, which I have not seen and their web page does not displays it properly. I had hopes for the PREDATOR 35. Please find out what you can about the boat. Lots of pictures, please. The only thing I kind of do not like, is that the post of the chair seems inclined or bent. I do not believe that any post of any chair should be bent. In any case, the console should be moved forward a little. Other than that, the boat looks gorgeous. Confirmation of quality, ride, fit and finish, seaworthiness, balance and safety is needed, if at all belongs to this boat. Ludi, while you are at it, please check the JERSEY CAPE DEVIL 36. I have read it is a magnificent boat, although some say it pounds and it is slow. One thing I can say, it is one beautiful devil. Find out what is the dead rise and real performance of the boat. What kind of construction it has, etc. Also find out if they will have the JERSEY CAPE 40 in EXPRESS!!! I THINK THAT THIS BOAT MAY BE THE SOLUTION.
