  1. My counter rotating side does not want to go into gear. Awful crunch & then engages. With the motor off, it is hard to engage as well, both with the throttle & the linkage on the motor. We dropped the lower unit off last night & the throttles feel fine, so we think the issue is in the lower unit with the shifting lever. How difficult & what kind of can of worms is it to open up this assembly? Thinking of finding a used lower unit and sliding it on? Any help here is greatly appreciated. The tuna have arrived...
  2. On my way to Portsmouth NH on Friday to get mine. Rumors were flying last year that the rule/law may get changed and that OUPV's wouldn't have to get it. Now the deadline is fast approaching & I am going to play it safe & get mine....
  3. The shorties are why we do this... Great times, great memories...
  4. Thinking about putting the door into the shrink wrap tomorrow & beginning the spring projects/cleaning. T minus 50 days until we go back in... Spring has not fully sprung up North of Boston, but I can smell it...
  5. I agree with going back to the manufacturer. Got some for my 10 year old blue contender and the match was pretty close... Not perfect, but great based on the age of the hull. Can't tell until you get very close & I am a rank amateur with Gelcote...
  6. I use the Porter Cable and it works great. The orbital & then by hand to get the wax fully off...
  7. Another would be to catch a Bluefin on the Fly Rod. Last year's class of fish were all over 100lbs. Hope a fresh group of the 50 to 75#'ers come back to the Gulf of Maine...
  8. The Water Pump was awsome. Used it last spring. I can do all of the other items you listed, but it is always interesting to see how other's do it. I am self taught, so it will be great to see how others do it. Any trick I can learn is appreciated. Been 4 years since I spent any money on repairs other than parts... Sites like this & participants like you make it work.
  9. My 1999 Contender 31 Open. My 9th Season with her....
  10. It is the 10 year anniversary of a 690 pound Bluefin Tuna we caught. My twins were 4 months old. I would like to land another Giant this year, but with my 10 year old son on board...
  11. Well done. Back to your roots... I am sure this site will be wildly successful. Appreciated, Chris
