  1. Isn't Genmar in Chapter 11? Some of us on here are actually in the marine industry and don't appreciate your BS; I'd like to call you out on your 20-30 cents on the dollar claim. I doubt as a detailer you are a NMMA member and if you were to use that organization for any kind of information whatsoever you will be as grossly misinformed as they are. By the way, you are going to be real disappointed if you think you will double your money on that Sea Ray. This forum is a waste! See ya! I was going to advertise on the top banner and offer a permanent 10% off to all of RB! Have fun with all of your BS & learn how to read!
  2. Hi All... Just trying to help and create some buzz... Go to any dealer across the country and you WILL fin smok'n deals either new or used! NOW IS THE TIME TO BUY IF YOU HAVE CASH-PERIOD!
  3. Call any bank or go visit any dealer and see the deals for yourself. I just picked up a 2007 240 Sea Ray for 7,500.00 cash. I will put it in my warehouse, detail it, put it out on the road come Spring and double my money. Even in this piss poor economy people are paying cash for clean small boats. Call me at 877-273-2017 if you would like some ideas... Jeff
  4. Hi Everyone... Fortunately I have great exposure to the NMMA, Trade Journals and many Dealers. Art of Detailing has 2 banks as customers and they are dumping repo boats for whatever they can get. So, if you are in the market for a new one. Poke and prod a little to find out if the one you are interested in is a repo. If it is, you may only have to pay $.20 to $.30 on the dollar. I know of a brand new 33 HydraSports with triple E-Tech 250's and loaded with all the goodies that went for $240,000.00 2 years ago that you can buy for $155,000.00. This is just one example. Even small boats are selling for a "song" Thanks
  5. Hi Everyone... As of yesterday www.boatoys.com has become a master distributor for SmartPlug and Dynabrade Power Tools and Accessories. Anyone who orders $100 or more will get a free ball cap and 5% off. Must be over the phone by calling 877-273-2017 Enjoy the day!
  6. Consider installing a GPS tracking system. tap into a hidden red (hot) wire and hide it. No one would ever suspect it to be on the boat. I have to have one for insurance to cover me. So I have one already. I do not want to have to use it. Very cool and very rare! You are smart!

  8. Check with the International School of Boat Restoration http://www.iyrs.org/
  9. In my personal experience you have a sound set up so long as you keep the bearing buddies greased, tire pressure accurate and avoid hot rodding. One addition you may want to consider is adding power trailer brakes. It makes the handling more controllable and saves your truck brakes. In many states like Connecticut-it is law that you have brakes with a Tandem. You may also consider a lower or higher hitch to balance the load accurately. Too low and the trailer "tugs" Too high and it pulls up. You can find all different sized hitches at a larger Wal-Mart cheap. This is definitely a trial and error effort. Try shifting stuff around in the boat as well to help balance. Always remember to rinse your trailer as soon as you get home if has been submerged in salt water. When I dunk a trailer, I never let the wheels go in more than half way.
  10. Sure would. I have suntan lotion stains on the armrests of my captains chair. Whatcha got to remedy that is not too rough on the material and stitching? We carry a product called Ardex New Wave. It is very important that you dilute as instructed. Water activates the product. Wave is a wonderful all purpose cleaner that lasts forever and requires very little elbow grease. Use a soft bug scrubber to loosen the stain. Very cheap at Wally World. Hope this helps...
  11. Based on my years of experience with rub rail restoration. you may want to try the following: 1. thoroughly clean and de-wax the surface. 2. Use a rotary buffer with a yellow wool polishing pad at 1500 rpm 3. Work as flat and gentle as possible using 1500 or 1000 grit compound. 4. Remember not to use too much compound as the pad does much of the work. 5. email me if you have further questions. This process will work with rubber or PVC which is generally made by Taco Products. Jeff
