  1. I had a couple come loose also. I just coated the threads with 5200 and gently screwed them back in until they were snug, let the 5200 cure and they are holding tight.
  2. I flush my Yamaha with the boat in the water all the time. Tilt the motor out of the water and hook up the hose to the onboard flush attachment on the side of the motor. Do not run the motor while on this flush attachment.
  3. I pull mine, top them off with distilled water if needed, take them to a local auto repair and have them fully charged ( nice guy, does it for nothing), then store them in the garage on a float charger until spring. Float charger won't bring them all the way up but will maintain a full charge. Three seasons on Interstate marines with no problems so far.
  4. Wiley, sorry to hear the sad news. Like many of us, I experienced the same feeling when I had to put down my good buddy Charlie seven years ago. Even now, not a day goes by that I don't think of him at least once. Ya know, the saying that time heals all wounds is probably true but a scar usually remains forever to remind us of the pain and the joy. Best wishes.
  5. Now that is a fine looking rig. My favorites are the fenders and fender holders on the bow.
  6. Maybe now that you have a full size anode it may be over compensating and doesn't need to be turned as far as the old one. I'm just guessing and trying to find an easy fix. It seems odd that the problem began after the 200hr service. Was there any indication of a problem before the service? Could the steering mechanism develop a problem over night? Teleflex cs address is below. I had to contact them a couple of months ago and they responded quickly and were very helpful. info@teleflex.bc.ca
  7. Was your trim tab anode(zinc) installed properly? There are notches on the underside of the cavitation plate. On my single F250, looking from the rear, the trailing edge of the anode is turned to the right to second notch. This counteracts prop torque so the boat will track straight.
  8. From what you posted, I assume you looked at the Yamaha Performance Bulletin for your boat and motor. In the bulletin they show the prop type and size they tested with. Yamaha tests with props that produce optimum performance. You should be running the same one.
  9. On my Yamaha 704 remote throttle control there is a small pop out plastic plate on the bottom of the base. Inside is an adjustment screw that regulates the tension on the lever. Turn it out to loosen the tension...in to tighten it.
  10. Beamish Irish Stout. Brewed in Cork City, Ireland.
  11. If I were going to the trouble of dropping the lower unit and pulling everything apart I'd go with the full kit. Especially when the cost difference is minimal.
  12. Hotspot, that's my boat only in Ice Blue. Outstanding boat at a reasonable price. Gotta love that big bow. The tip above is a good one. Always check that the livewell lid is closed before trimming the motor up. I worked a boat show for a local SH dealer in February and as of that time SH had not done anything to keep the lid from laying back flat. When it happened to me the hinges on the lid buckled and took most of the force. Motor cowling has a very slight crease and is hardly noticeable. Ever price a replacement cowling for an F250? Not cheap.
  13. The wiring is not "Yellowfin" quality but it's as good as or better than most mid tier boats that I looked at. The hull on my 24 is foam filled up to about four inches from the gunwale.
  14. I am on my third season with my '07 SH Triton 240. Sea Hunt now calls it a Gamefish 24 but they are the same boat...just a name change in '08. I am extremely happy with the boat in all areas. I looked extensively before my purchase and could not find anything that could come close to this boat in terms of value. Overall quality, fit and finish, styling and handling/ride are comparable to boats costing many thousands more. If I had to mention negatives they would be only a couple. The anchor locker is too small and I had to modify the anchor to make it fit. My rawwater washdown system is worthless. Never worked from day one. However, this problem was addressed in mid '08 and current models have a much improved and functional system. If you have any specific questions I'd be glad to help out. The link below will take you to the Yamaha Performance Bulletin for the Gamefish 24. My boat is rigged exactly like their test boat and the numbers they show are true to actual performance. http://www.yamaha-motor.com/assets/product...24-f250btxr.pdf
  15. Welcome Southport. Been out on my neighbor's 26 a few times. Outstanding boat and one of the prettiest on the water.
