  3. Dry Launch lights are the most trouble free lights available. I had them on an EZ Loader I sold a few years ago. They were totally trouble free for 22 years, with 100's of launchings. Never replace a single lamp! I would use them again in a heartbeat. They may not be high tech, but they work with no maintenance.

  5. I don't know if you've seen the black metal dog silhouette devices in industrial parks and office complexes, but they do work. They are about the size of a collie and work great to keep Canada Geese permanently away. They are being used where I used to work very successfully. I'm sure you could make one from a 4x8' sheet of plywood.
  6. I also have an Expedition (07 2WD) and pull a GW Gulfstream, a very heavy 23' WA. Never a problem on the ramp and way better fuel economy w/o 4WD and greater towing cap w/o the extra 500 lbs or so. Expedition was rated for 10,000 lbs and my rig is close to that w/ the trailer. Jim GW Gulfstream with T 175 E-Tecs
  7. Four possibilities: a) Prop shaft seal(s) Drive shaft seal c) Shift rod seal d) Drain/fill gaskets The water pickup deal has nothing at all to do with it. To find which are the culprits: I made an adapter that threads into the drain hole, has a Schraeder valve and a tubing connection (to put a pressure/vacuum gauge on). I use a compressor for pressure and a MityVac for vacuum. General testing procedure: a) drain gear oil (it will mask leaks if left in) - You've already done this pressurize (no more than 15 psig for v4/v6 LU's, less for smaller motors ... consult OEM shop manual. Higher pressures will blow out seals! You don't have to worry about vacuum ... it's OK to go to 30" Hg vac (that's equal to ~ -15psig) ... you just can't pull enough vacuum to do any harm to seals and 30"Hg is the max possible. For vacuum testing, I remove the valve core temporarily. c) v4/v6 LU's should hold some pressure or vacuum for at least 45 minutes, smaller motors somewhat less time. d) If leakage is found, submerge in water and look for bubbles for leak source e) After repair, repeat pressure test (as a minimum) to verify repair. For prop shaft or driveshaft seal replacement, if shaft is grooved where seal lip was, make sure to install new seal slightly offset to avoid any shaft grooving.
  8. Easy, get an impact tool that rotates a bit when struck with a hammer and make sure it's set to turn in the correct direction. I got one from Sears many years ago and it always works (unless you let the slot get really screwed up). Forget oil, heat, etc. These impact drivers are cheap (under $20) and always work and don't screw up the plug head.
  9. No antifreeze needed ... just store with motor vertical.
  10. Evinrude CR prop pair in pristine condition, SS, under 100 hours operation ... wrong pitch for my rig $600/pr. ... must pickup (no ship) Eastern Shore MD .... wilde1j@hotmail.com
  11. Leaking injector(s) may be the cause of fuel getting into the crankcase after shutdown. If oil smells like gas, have a dealer do leakdown tests on the injectors.
