  1. I have, it was very easy. I instruct passengers what to do if there is a problem. Its just a little more peace of mind.
  2. So those are the landlocked version eh? Very nice !!! But I will never leave the bluefin tuna fishing up here !!!! The most exicting fishery there is; short of billfishing. Tight Lines Capt. Van
  3. The best way to fish Boston Harbor is live lining-Trolling. That is what took these fatties. Did a charter this morning and we managed only one fish about 33"/10-12 lbs.
  4. Bahstan Habaa....LOL. This one in 07 was almost 10 lbs heavier.
  5. Fishing in my area has been sloooooooooooow to NADA. We've been getting some small fish if any. Yesterday this girl got fooled and came over the rail. 29+ pounds.
  6. I installed the Furuno 620 with a through hull 600W transducer. IT IS AWESOME........I see even the small bait no problem. THe through hull ducer adds alot to the package, I've had transom mounts for years, but this blows them away....I keep bottom readings over 35 mph.... Like others said the 620 only accepts 600W, the 585 1000W ducers, but for my purposes where, deepest fishing is less than 200' and thats not very often. The 600W has plenty of punch. Dual frequency on all the time and you see everything. Quick spin knob to change the major features is sweet, they got the Sheit together. All good I say, and I have not even taken it out of auto yet............as I'm still learning. Good luck.......
  7. What happened is the galvy did its job. It corroded sacrificially to the aluminum, but eventually it was spent. Then you corroded the steel under the galvy (your red rust) and the aluminum. You might try to slip a thin sheet of tough plastic between the galvy and alumuinum, you want to isolate them eletrically if possible, but the bolt may may complete the circuit. So you are probably fine with new galvy plates and isolating may lengthen the replacement time, how long did it take to get to this condition?
  8. Very nice Kingair.... Hey did you get your "grounding" figured out? I was in on that thread. I finally installed all my electronics and ran that isolated round to my batt neg... I don't have a bonding system..
  9. Sounds good Solo System (1 receiver, 1 sensor) Retail: $235.00 - POWER BUY PRICE: $199.75 Just let me know. Oh yea.....can I pay with paypal ?
  10. Hey guys: My 21 Proline is slipped at DYC (Dorchester). I boat/fish Bahstan Hahbaa, north to glouster and south to scituate or further. Also do some tuna on the NWC. (weather permitting)........... I recognize some of you. I am also a long standing MSBA member, on the board of directors and the club's newsletter editor. I've held my OUPV for 3 years now. So I do some charters as well. Heres to a great season....... Great new site Wiley !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. Just registered today, although I have been lurking from time to time. Recoginize plenty of members from "those other" forums. Hope I can add something here,,,been boating for over 40 years in Bahstan Habaa I hold my 6-pack license now and do some chartering on the side. Tuna, Stripers and blues along with some bottom fishing. Got a 21 Proline walk with a 175 ficht, all is good. Its a short season up here so we try to make the most of it.
