  1. It looks like every day we have a different sunset. Great pictures. Thanks
  2. Hmmm this is interesting. Have you checked with your boat insurance what they consider offshore? I do know a insurance company will not cover offshore accidents unles you buy a special policy. Where I am that is anywhere off the mainland. That means if you are outside the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel you are Offshore.
  3. It is sad what the enviromentalist are doing to our country. What is even worse they are not accountable for it when they are wrong. It really is sad. Eviromental people don't realize people have rights too.
  4. We too owned a World Cat. That is one heck of a boat. It can take the rough water and still keep up speed. We could cruise at 30 knots in 4 foot seas. It is one boat that we really loved. We did sell it because we wanted more comfort for cruising. I surely miss that boat. It had two 200 hp engines on it and it could do over 50 mph. One tough boat. One day we went to the tower and another boat tried to get us to leave saying that a storm was coming. We told him he needed to leave because we could make it with our boat. He was just trying to get our spot, there wasn't a storm coming. We had already checked the weather. Another time It was close to dark outside when we were cruising around 30 mph when all of a sudden we saw three 7 foot waves. My son grabbed the throttle and pulled it back. We still went airborne on two of the waves. It was a wake from a big ship heading out and definately was making time. I am a believer in World Cats. The definately are great boats.
  5. has not set their status

  6. This is a interesting Idea. I feel Reel Boating stands for real boating experience. I do see the fishing side of it. Joe Boater , I am not sure what it stands for. It does sound a lot more down to earth boating. I think I would use the name Reel Boating and have under it. A place where Joe boater can stay informed or something like that. Anyway I will be around either way. I can see both sides. How about a sub topic call Joe Boater? A place to ask your boating questions? Now I hate to say this but how about making the Joe boater sub being funny thing people see boaters doing. One just has to expand on that.
  7. We did fish the other day. We had one striper hookup that came in sideways. It got close to the boat and the line broke. We turned around and proceed to go over the same area. We had alreadhy caught 1 other fish in that area and thought we could maybe catch some more. We trolled for about a hour and then turned back over the same area again. When we got close to the are we hooked up the last fish we had a fish on. It turned out to be the same fish. It still had our artificial bait hooked to it"s mouth. He was a 37 incher. Not bad. We ended the day with 3 fish and could have stayed and probably limited out but we decided to head on home. We got in it was just before dark. We pulled up to the fuel dock to was the boat down. As soon as we washed the boat down the water on the dock froze to ice. That made it fun on the dock. Life is always exciting.
  8. We were going to fish today but the weather was not very good. Very strong wind. We should fish wednesday. I am not sure about the weather on thursday but I hear it is going to be bad. I am not sure where we will be fishing. My son takes care of that. But we do fish all over and have certain area's we like to fish and some we like to test for fish. Just like anyone else fishing. We fish out of Salt Ponds Marina in Hampton. Hopefully we will be doing this just long enough to get to where we are going to fish.
  9. I wonder how much over powered that boat is. I think it was a stupid move by someone.
  10. I have a 5 hp mercury I might just try the E3 and see what it does.
  11. Here is our boat. Weekend Hooker - We fish out of Salt Ponds Marina in Hampton, va. Maybe I can show some fishing pictures for this year after we catch a few striper. We shall see. Here is a picture of our boat with the Wounded Warriors on it after a day of fishing for Amberjack.
  12. If the weather is good enough the week after christmas we should be fishing for Striper. Let's hope the big stripers are here.
  13. Sure is a nice looking boat. I would definately add a couple of supports under it. I would not trust that set up. The bottom metal supports that they use would definately stabilize the boat better. Anyway very nice boat.
  14. We had gone out to test all our fishing equipment. We wanted to catch fish but the checkout of the boat, fishing gear etc was the first and formost on our minds. We wanted to test different ways of fishing. We normally troll for striper but we at times we use other methods. We had a good day considering the bad weather and high waves. I think we were not really expecting to catch anything and when it did happen it took us by surprise. My son was just setting up for more rigs to go out when the fish hit. Nice thing is we might have picked up another fishing area to add to our fishing places. We will go there again and check out the area and see if it is productive. Anyway thanks for the report and I surely will let you know how we do when we go out again. Anyway we still have different rigs to test and see what they do. We probably will put out a whole spread this coming weekend and go for the fish and see what is out there.
  15. Anyone started fishing for Striper in the Chesapeake Bay. We went out a week ago and caught a 35 incher at the CBBT. I know the schoolies are around. We really are waiting on the big boys to get here. I believe they should be here sooner than last year. We should be fishing this saturday and the next saturday if the weather permits. Last time we went out it was rough and nasty out. Hopefully this time will be better.
