  1. Anybody seen the shortcut to The Sandbar website? I can't seem to find it. Thanks
  2. Hehehe. Sorry douche rockets got what they deserved. Only disappointment with that video is whoever had that big scope aimed at 'em that we were lookin through didn't get to dust their junkie azzes off personally 'cause you KNOW that was coming...
  3. One of lifes tougher knocks, in my opinion. I always noticed Beachnuts picture as your avatar. I am sorry for your loss, Wiley.
  4. Same here. I don't ever recall hearing or reading anything negative about Mr. Swayze away from the Big Screen. Rest in Peace
  5. Great choices, Kingair. Watched the horror begin to unfold at work on September 11th, 2001. My boss, the owner of the company, a financially set individual, and happy family man, weep. I took the news like a medical diagnosis of imminent death, up to a certain point. I was shocked at first, then didn't believe it was true, and then was mad, but I can tell you this for certain: I have never accepted the atrocity of those sorry b a s t a r d s that day, or the days and weeks and months and years following. Mark me down as one guy that will never forgive or forget.
  6. Great question, seajay. I believe the individual I referrenced in my little story had a propensity for eating french-fried potatoes in mass quantities. His evil friends, in an effort to remind him of his affliction, nick-named him "tater", which is "potato" shortened by redneck logic. Even a redneck like me knows that "french-fried potato eating guy" is too long for a nick-name. Hope this helps. pat
  7. Got a phone call from my old friend Blade the other day. Blade is not his real name, but a nick-name he picked up after he almost killed himself with a pocket knife when he was just a kid. After the phone call, I started thinking about nick-names I have heard over the years. (Yeah, I know, I'm a regular Albert "Hair" Einstien sometimes, but I keep myself amused most of the time.) Probably my all-time personal record for nick-names in one gathering was at a dinner table I enjoyed one year in duck camp. Seated around the table were Tater, Rabbit, Free, Blade, Monroe, Byrdman, me, and Wormy. As a matter of fact, I met few people on that trip that seemed to go by there God given name. Must have been the geographical area we were in. Do people in other parts of the world have nick-names? Anybody here from Up North, and know anybody with a nick-name? pat
  8. On the Neuse River, across from gaffer's picture, I think...not sure if it was morning or evening. I drink alot...Natural Lights, of course
  9. Hold on now Cuz. Duct tape on a back tires of a tractor keeps the bees away? hehehe I gotta take one for the team, and call BULLSHIP...
  10. Made me laugh out loud...thanks for that one Boz!
  11. Great topic autobaun. I have a couple of these threads printed out from other websites, and occasionally read over them for new grilling ideas. Lately my favorite has been cooking marinated salmon on "planks" on the grill. I buy salmon from Publix that has already been marinated, and cook it about 15 minutes per inch of fillet on top of the board. No flipping, no muss, no fuss. Found some small lobster tails on sale the other day at The Fresh Market. Melted a little butter, mixed in some pot-latch seasoning (thanks grgrmouse from ClassicMako!), split those bad boys on the underside, and smeared the mixture in. Cook them long enough to knock back a cold Natural Light, about ten minutes. Some of the best food I have had in a lonnngg time.
  12. Only a guy that lives in a wobble-box would mis-prop a merc like that. Obviously needs more pitch. That thing will NEVER circulate water right. What a goober...
  13. Got to love a Mustang. She's a beauty. Most of the roads I travel in NC are posted at 55 mph. You getting nearly 28 mpg cruising those roads at 62 mph in that baby will be pretty sweeeet...
  14. Now, I come to the winner of the contest. I expect nothing less than crystal clear logic when SnapperHead comes calling on a thread, and I was not disappointed this time. Why in God's name was I at home on a BEAUTIFUL Saturday afternoon, watering grass, you ask? I still don't have a good answer. Two obvious boats, ready and willing to go, sitting idly on their bunks. I am all but embarrased by the whole thing. I gives me chills just thinking back on the whole episode. Never again, I can tell you that. Not in this lifetime. Well done, Snappy. Thanks to all that contributed. Pat
  15. I imagine you are referring to my awning support poles as "the clothesline". It is obvious I have been under-ultilizing those poles. Thanks for the great idea, Ludicrous.
