  1. I saw this posted a couple of months ago on another site. Judging by the replies, this is fairly common and is not oil but some type of internal infection. I have never witnessed this type of thing but others seem to have.
  2. I'll forgive you for the drunkeness and not wearing pfd's but what's with the Auburn hat? You would even allow that on your boat?
  3. Just going by what the scales at Orange Beach Marina said 24hrs after it was caught.
  4. The following is a link to the video of a 53# dolphin caught on a trip we made aboard the High Cotton (Orange Beach, AL) back in May. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x9ybt9_53...ght-aboard-high
  5. I knew that they made a 17 and 19 but had no idea that they made that style in a 22. Cool boat.
  6. 285exp, What size Negus was that to have 250hp? Was it wood or fiberglass? Where was that picture taken?
  7. I bought one from Boatersland back in the spring for my 19' bayboat. It was considerably cheaper than everyone else, I think I paid $120. The material is good quality and it fits very well for a non-custom cover. I have seen others covers around my neighborhood that I know cost at least twice as much that do not fit as well. I don't know how long it will last but I'm happy with it so far.
  8. 14' Stauter-Built (locally made wooden boat) with a pull start 25 Johnson. My dad gave it to me for my 11th birthday. He thought that if I could pull start it and shut it off and satrt it again 3 times in a row then I was old enough to operate it. I spent a lot of time in that boat.
  9. It's awful here too. Scared to death of the next power bill. My kids have a swim meet that starts at 5. Maybe they won't get ink on the seats like last week.
  10. Well snapper saeson opened Monday so alot of snapper are being caught. Spanish are running and there has been alot of bluewater action. It has pretty much gotten to that summer pattern. You may want to try pensacola fishing forum.
  11. Can it seriously drop from 8 to 11 to 1 ft in 2 days?
  12. I have pictures of the large dolphin and wahoo but I am having trouble uploading. Still new to the whole posting pictures thing.
  13. We left Orange Beach at 6AM Friday for two full days of fishing with Chris Garner on the High Cotton. After a short stop for bait, we pressed on and started fishing. Our first stop produced a limit of AJ's, no monsters but solid fish. After having our fill of that we headed to blue water to chase pelagics. While the offshore bite was not exactly hot, it was steady and we started putting fish in the boat including wahoo and dolphin. A couple of the dolphin were really nice with a cow weighing in the upper 20's/low 30's and a bull that would weigh 53 after being on ice for over 24 hours. We trolled until dark and then started jigging, putting some blackfin in the boat. After a full day of fishing we called it quits about 11. At 4:30 the engines come back to life and we are headed back to the rig. We quickly jig up a few more blackfin in the dark and begin trolling just before sunup. Well, the morning bite provides a few yellow fin before it shuts down. We continue trolling and added a few more dolphin and wahoo before pointing the boat toward Orange Beach. After running a couple of hours or so we put the spread out once again and pick up a few more wahoo up to 45lbs. I have to be honest, I don't think that we could put anymore fish in the boxes. We clear Perdido Pass Bridge at 4:00 Sat afternoon to one of the biggest parties that I have ever seen at Robinson Island. Wow, those folks looked to be having fun! I didn't bother to tally up all of the fish, but it was a mess. I have enough to keep the neighborhood fed for a while. The pics aren't on my camera but I will post them when I can get them. I can't say enough about Chris and his crew. It is very hard for 11 guys to spend nearly 36 hours on a boat and not get on each others nerves. I know that they did not get on our nerves and they hid it well if we got on theirs. Good job Chris, Sean, and Tom.
  14. Thanks Menzies. Considering that it fell on Mother's Day, I kind of got ignored.
