  1. congratulations! She is quite a head turner. Be careful docking stern to with another sportfishermen - the outriggers are pretty far aft and over the dock - I sure would hate to see anything get damaged. Please keep up the pictures - I love the teak floor under the generator!!!
  2. During one of the Destin Mako Owner Funaments that I've hosted over the last five years. My '85 Mako 20C.
  3. This boat needs to go. Anyone interested in the motor?? I may sell just the motor and then donate the boat to a charity.
  4. I've had a few offers but they never follow through. Someone must want a radar in great condition!
  5. I used to have a '74 Cohassett - always got attention with that console. great little boat. I'll look for pictures of mine as I had a custom windshield made for it and had shorty VHF and loran antenna mounted on the front of the console. I also had the aluminum legs powdercoated and they looked great. One addition I did do was to make some blocks to fit the top of the legs and raise the seat so I could put two 12 gallon tanks under the seat. I re-powered with a 90hp v-4 and that thing would scream. I too had the spider crack problems you are having and I think you need to sand and re-gelcoat. you can get a gel coat removing tool that is basically a planner and you remove the gelcoat easily, but preparation is the key to a good restoration.
  6. Any Napa auto parts store can make the o-rings for you....and they are much cheaper then ordering them.
  7. Talked to Aquascan, and they stated that it should be worth around $3k, but looking to get it sold, so how about $2,500? Delivery *may* be arranged, since I have plenty of time to deliver it right now.
  8. I am selling this dingy for my dad as he replaced it with a BW 9' that came off his older boat (and he can store more stuff under the cover in it). This boat was manufactured in October 2001 and has been pretty well kept, as it basically sat up on top of the back deck on a Hatteras for many years under a cover. The last year and half it's been on a trailer under a cover and the pictures below are after a washing with boat wash only, so with the appropriate cleaners, the tubes will clean right up. It has a Mercury 9.9 (the cover says 15hp which was a replacement at some point) with electric start and remote throttle and steering. The console has a battery with a battery switch, there are running lights and nice little seat. This is a perfect little cruiser for the harbor or ferrying to the beach from an anchorage. It certainly is no speed demon but very reliable and has never given any problems. There is a slow leak somewhere in the port tube but it doesn't effect using it for the day and at some point the boat was bottom painted. Also in the below pictures you can see the lifting line on the rear of the console and there is a stainless wire for the transom so it is lifted at four points by a davit. Please let me know if you have any questions. Delivery may be arranged for a small fee. I'm not sure of the value of this dingy yet, so make an offer before a price is set. I can email the full size pictures upon request. The trailer in the pictures is not included. overview of the boat Port side Seat Picture showing the bow light
  9. I'm selling a radar unit for my dad which came off his Grand Banks 42. It's a Raytheon Pathfinder RL70 which is a radar and GPS in one. The head unit is an LCD and includes the bracket and a brand new flush mount kit. It has a 24" closed array radar and a gps antenna. It is missing the cables and power cords. The radar does have some fading but the LCD unit is in perfect condition. This could be a great unit for a t-top installation. The price is $750 obo and you will need to purchase the cable for the radar and the power cable which totals $200 from by owner electronics. The LCD unit looks brand new and you can see the sun fading on the radar. The mast bracket and the GPS extension is NOT included. Let me know if there are any questions. The unit is Fort Walton Beach, FL.
  10. Tide range is about 1', maybe 2' on rare occasion, and the area is relatively protected, even from half throttled cruisers. I am just curious on the opinions of real users as this would be for a total dock replacement for a marina. There seems to be a trend of going to floating docks, and I've been on some that were real nice, and we are seeing them used more and more around our area, but fixed docks have always been the go to solution, so I'm interested if our little area is behind the dock technology curve or the increase in floating docks is nothing more then a trend. My main concern is 1) cost and 2) hurricanes.
  11. I would like to get feedback from those that live in areas with both floating and fixed docks and which type do you prefer and why? If you kept your boat at a marina or you were visiting one, would you rather prefer floating docks? Assume that tidal fluctuations are not a factor (sorry NE guys).
