I know for a fact that this is a one of a kind boat and that NO ONE ELSE can do it at this time so why are there so many haters out there with nothing better to do than stand around with a camera and take pictures of things that have nothing to do with them and just want to mess up others names in a industry that already has enough people that back stab and lie to just make a sale. Plane and simple, the thing worked but had a few flaws that someone caught on camera, but nothing they can't fix I bet! It still belongs to Midnight at this time from what I hear, so where is the harm in breaking something in the R&D stage of the building process, what Midnight is the only boat company that has ever broken something while testing? I THINK NOT!!

If you have some details, please share :1947_eating_popcorn_and_drinkin

I just want to say that there will be a Big Black Five Engine Boat hauling it through the port before anyone even realizes that this even happened, with the name MIDNIGHT EXPRESS down the side. Hope the camera guy doesn't blink or he might miss it!!! Anyone who wants to see, keep checking and I'll let you know approx. Day and Time!! GOTTA LOVE THOSE GUYS!! Boat weighs 18,000 LBS. dry and runs 80+ MPH. Five hundred gallons of fuel on board after that! Anyone else got one like that? NO! ANY QUESTIONS?

I believe the point Kingair is trying to make, along with several others, is that the quint engine Midnight has been paraded around South FL for probably over a year, has strutted it's stuff in the public eye, Midnight has not come forward, at least to my knowledge, claiming this was a prototype only, do not try this at home, etc., etc., etc. There seems to have been a lot of braggidacio coming out of the Midnight camp, and thus it would have one believe that this boat is the next best thing since sliced bread.

Along comes a MAJOR mishap, and now it seems that certain people are coming to a very lame defense of the boat, and company, saying that we shouldn't be taking pictures, we shouldn't be poking fun at Midnight, we should all just shut up and go about our business. "It's a prototype, after all, leave them alone..." When someone or some company flaunts their latest product and tries to get it put on the front page, well, what do they expect when something goes wrong with it? Poor Midnight Express? Don't think so. In fact, I think Wiley has been more than fair with the boat. And fair means reporting the bad with the good. It's not a one way street.

I personnally think that any boat with more than 3 outboards is the wrong direction for more HP. It's time to think sterndrives. 2 1200 SCi's yield 2400 HP at around 2300 lbs, 1000 lbs lighter than 5 Vrods, and have the hull and stringers for support. That is just an example. Granted, you have exhaust noise issues to deal with, but the point is...

I mean, we all remember this boat:

Would love to get these pictures! I seem to always get the boat going out (idle speed) but really want to get some shots coming in the channel WFO!

Send me an email when you are going out and if I'm here I will be out for pix: info@reelboating.com

More importantly let me know when you'll be coming back in.
