GPS Your Front Door?

Recommended Posts

We live in the sticks on a cul de sac...neighborhood split up in 5 acre lots...you gotta be lookin' to find us...I was doin' some yardwork down by the road recently when a car pulls up (rare), guy gets out and starts walkin' around...he has a tag around his neck...I ask if I can help him. Turns out he's one of 100,000 people nationwide hired by the census bureau to enter your and my front door into a GPS database as a waypoint...Google up GPS Front Door...

Started 2 1/2 yrs ago under Bush and recently funded by Stimulus dollars, Big Brother is here folks...he walked up my front driveway to w/in 40' of the front door and entered the numbers...could I have legally shot him for trespassing?...j/k, but it did bother me... :471_confused_face:

If the street in front of your house is w/in 40' of your door, they don't even have to get outta the car... <_<

I think unless they are law enforcement they are not allowed to enter your property without permission. Of course these days that may be wrong.

I really don't care if my address is on some GPS record somewhere. It will make emergencey response people get there faster if I need them. Besides, Google Earth has a real nice shot from above already. Your address is public information already anyway.

That said, anyone who just walks onto someones land and up to the front door uninvited is asking for trouble. To feed more informaton to the internet is not a good enough reason to come wandering around on my land. It is still private property and Google is not authorized to send anyone to my house. Curbside is good enough for them. If they bypass the "Private" sign at the end of the driveway, they are opening themselves up to tresspass laws or worse.

I almost wish they would get mine correct, out of all the mapping services not one has my house located where it really is, course if I upset someone that may be a good thing. I have tried to locate my house on Frapper Maps and I did manage to finally move the pin to the right place. In my case they would have to do it from outside the fence, the pretty golden colored dog would not let them in.

Google and Bing both put me somewhere that I am not, Bing locates me about a mile and a half from where I am, Google locates me about 3/4 mile from where I am.

I haven't actually checked the coordinates on Google, but you can see my boat in the driveway.

the gps for your door enables the gov't goons to come straight to your door when they come for you.

they have a file on you.

they're watching you.

they know how much you drink, drive, meds you take.

they know how many guns you have.

they know what organizations you are a member in.

they read your e-mails, listen in on your phone calls

they're installing cameras in cable tv boxes and can activate the built in camera on your computer.

no- i don't wear a tin foil hat.

it is happening.
